Tender

So we hold within the tempest
Straining, unrelenting - breathless
While sails catch the winds and tear
Reckless, straining - without care

Until the tempest passes
The waters calm, the morning rises
Our hope secure and unrelenting
We are waiting to be pulled to shore

If we knew tomorrow's answer
Faith could not unveil our heart
As we strive through the sightless
The Maker proves His mark

Oh; this mourning may not be consoled
Yet, as we weep within the hold;
We are brought where we would never search
Past the tombs of blinding earth

Years you've waited for - when come at last;
We are broken from this feeble cast
Within, you'll greet the reason
Why you had to weep

Through the tempest unrelenting
We endure to the end
May we see the ache before us
As our making and our mend
