When a SINNER "REPENTS" (having a change of heart and mind about SIN), and BELIEVES the "Gospel" (Good News) of Jesus Christ, they are, at that moment of belief, "Born Again", saved from the consequences of their lifetime of SINS. 

The Word of God says that THE LORD JESUS CHRIST not only forgives us of EVERY SIN we will ever commit against Him, but His mercy is such that He removes ALL of them "As far as the East is from the West", which is infinite. And permanent.

At the moment of salvation, The Holy Spirit of God, "seals" every Born Again Believer, with the promise of God, and we are redeemed by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, Who is the propitiation for our sins, bearing them ALL on Himself, never again counting them against us. 

A Born Again Believer in Jesus Christ will never die. And we WILL be taken "HOME" to Heaven when Jesus Himself "appears" in the clouds, at the "Rapture".  What a DAY that will be!

But Satan, who is called "The Accuser" and other people, who are themselves SINNERS in their own right, will try to accuse those Born Again of their forgiven sins, bringing them up, even though those sins of the "old man", that Jesus Christ forgave... and promises to remove from us as far as the East is from the West... JESUS IS God incarnate (in the flesh). Jesus IS The Christ (Messiah), Who came to earth to bear our every sin on Himself. He was crucified and RAISED from the dead (something ONLY God can do), that all we must "do" for forgiveness of sin, salvation and eternal life is to REPENT (admit we are sinners) and "BELIEVE" the gospel. That's it. At that moment, we are forgiven by God, saved from God's Judgement against SIN and "Born Again", with eternal LIFE with God:

1. Propitiation for our sins: 
1 John 2:2 - "And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."

2. Jesus' crucifixion: 
Matthew 27:35 - "And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots."

3. Raised to life again: 
Romans 6:4 - "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."

4. The biblical definition of "The Gospel" (or Good News) that saves our souls when we simply BELIEVE in faith these facts are God's Truth, according to the Word of God:
1 Corinthians 15:4 - "And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

5. John 3:3 - 
"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

6. Romans 10:9-10 - 
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

7. I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever: 
Psalm 23:6 - "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."

This song combines two beautiful passages of The Bible that describe God's lovingkindness and longsuffering (great patience)toward sinners. Jesus is The "Shepherd" Who cares for those who would simply admit they are sinners (repentance), and come to Him for God's mercy, compassion, forgiveness and salvation (be Born Again by REPENTING of sin and BELIEVING the soul-saving gospel message, as 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 10:9-10, John 3:16-21, and Ephesians 2:8-9 describe). 

Jesus tells a parable of "The Prodigal Son", who had left his "Father" and the safety of his "HOME" for a life of sin and debauchery in "this world". 

When he finally "comes to himself" (realizes how far he has fallen into SIN), he turns to his "Father" and seeks forgiveness. 

But when the Father sees his prodigal returning HOME from the "road of SIN, He "RUNS" to his lost family, welcoming him with arms wide open, kisses and nothing but the very best he has to give him.

This parable expresses the unfathomable, "AGAPE LOVE" that our Heavenly Father has for "whosoever would BELIEVE" on Jesus Christ for remission of sins and eternal LIFE.
