This version was first sung by Cape Downwinders pledging to shut down the Pilgrim nuke "down by Cape Cod Bay." Tho the dangers of radioactive fuel waste (and the battle against them) continues-- we DID shut down that leaky nuke!

Diane Wilson sustained a 36-day hunger strike in April 2021 to stop the dredging in Matagorda Ship Channel on the Texas Gulf coast and to STOP EXPORTING GAS & OIL. As early as the 1970's, major oil & gas corporations knew that burning fossil fuels would pump dangerous levels of CO2 into the atmosphere—which would cause climate change. Yet they ignored their own scientists' warnings, and have continued to spend millions of dollars to spread dis-information the public and lobby in Congress against renewable energy. This is unconscionable and immoral.
