Not really sure what to call this genre, just playing around with layers and i hope I'm actually learning something because sometimes it doesn't feel like I am,  it just feels to me like a bunch of desperate noise hoping it falls in the correct order and isn't too horrible. You know how sometimes you feel like no matter how many times you do it or how much it feels like you nailed it, something always happens where you can't actually hear your song over the out of adjustment music track you used for your beat.  Then you have to go back and fine tune that crap right out the way, "delete" and you're like "there!" all happy with yourself.  Then you play it and there's 13 seconds with no music but it sure as hell has you loud and clear singing accapella, when you didn't even know you were doing it... unfortunately you only found out after a couple weeks and you finally decided you should listen to your own song, hell it's been 2 weeks and you only got 6 plays, what the hell?  Not a fear of mine... anymore...

As I am still fighting the last vestiges of covid19, smell, taste, stamina, ptsd, etc. I still think about it constantly. If you've had it you understand.  I still get head and neck aches along with stuffed sinuses and dry scratchy throat, which is not very conducive to singing so I did what I could but there is no way to sing smoothly and I have no idea how long it's going to last so I just said screw it iff this is going to be my new voice then i may as well embrace it. Cut throat is the name of a... well not a man per se but an entity that hunts for people who have done nothing worthwhile in their life and only lived to hurt others.  People who only use others for whatever they can get from them and have no compassion or empathy for the pain they cause.  I guess some might call him karma but that word to me implies chance, like you might have a chance to escape it but with cut throat you have absolutely no chance that it may not catch up to you, it is guaranteed he will it's just a matter of time. Sometimes I think there must be a cosmic score keeper and when someone hits a certain number BAM! There he is.

This is a song I created with the help of a kickass instrumental by Madatracker. It is based on a little known incident in the eastern part of the world where there were body piles that were notorious for having live victims hiding under the deceased in order to attempt to survive.  Unfortunately the men wielding the weapons were very patient and thorough, although a few did pull it off and are still here today trying to forget the Hell they went through to be able to go back home to see their families again. I will speak for those that did pull it off and say, that was both a very large and very small price to pay to earn the ability to make it home to see loved ones again. Also those that have the knowledge and are still here today will never forget the sacrifice of those courageous men and women that paid the ultimate price that made it possible for the few to survive.
I hope you listen and I hope you enjoy, even though it is difficult to make a song like this entertaining in any way. My hope is that after reading the inspiration for the song you will then hear the lyrics and it will make more sense.

Hi, I'm Jess Johnson.  
I am on a quest to find my genre.  I have tried to sing different genres like country,  folk,  metal,  alternative rock,  hard rock... but since i write my own songs I'm usually at a loss as to what genre they should be labeled with.  I don't make beats or play an instrument, I find a beat or instrumental that i like and i write a song or just sing whatever comes to mind, to conform to the instrumental.
