"Jess Carson holds her Bachelor of the Arts degree in Creative Writing with a minor in Music from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Her interests include solving the great enigmas of the universe while snacking on a large tub of cookie dough ice cream. She's especially fond of fuzzy things, words that rhyme with 'orange', and heavy sarcasm. Despite her refined evasive maneuvers, she is still a sucker for a left hook. Her music has been featured in a variety of short films and her fiction has previously been published by The Diverse Arts Project."

Jess Carson is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas.  Born on October 23, 1987, Jess had always been encouraged to pursue all that she loved.  She learned to play the piano by ear and has been composing music since the tender age of seven. Upon reaching college age, she had picked up the saxophone in addition and expanded her musical talents under the instruction of Stan Morris while also expanding her knowledge of music theory by taking ear training, music theory, piano classes, and composition classes.  Jess transferred from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in January 2010 to change her major and pursue a degree in Creative Writing.  She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing and a minor in Music in December of 2011.
