Stadsbilder (”City Images”) is the first collaborative album between Swedish musicians Jakob Lindhagen and Dag Rosenqvist. The composers have both made names for themselves within the contemporary music scene – Jakob as an award-winning film composer with solo music streamed in the millions on digital platforms, and Dag as a highly prolific musician and sound artist, having over 50 releases over the last 15 years in a vast array of constellations, both solo works and as part of the duo From The Mouth Of The Sun, as well as film composing and music for dance performances.

The music on Stadsbilder intertwines layers of organic and electronic sounds, with minimal piano melodies meeting vintage synthesizers, found sounds, harmonium, banjo, kantele, Fender Rhodes and saxophone, as well as cello (played by Sebastian Selke of CEEYS).

Stadsbilder will be available in two distinct vinyl versions. The first comes in a limited, handmade edition of only 50 individually unique copies, each with hand done analog collages made from original vintage prints of views of the American southwest, antique interior design prints, and cut out, 100 year old industrial engravings and other paper ephemera. Each of these is mounted on the front of heavyweight, recycled kraftboard record jackets. On the back of each jacket is a corner mounted, double sided, art deco interior design print, and the album text is printed on separate corresponding pages from the same 1930’s book that the front collage materials came from. Each jacket then comes in a heavyweight outer poly sleeve.

There is also a standard vinyl version in an edition of 150 copies in a full color printed jacket. Both versions come with 180gm clear vinyl. The release will also be available digitally at the Time Released Sound Bandcamp page, and on numerous streaming platforms worldwide.

Flocks

Coming in at just over two hours long (two hours and nine minutes to be precise) is the first part of the first "The Emporium Project" ... a collection of collaborations that span multiple genres but hold true to their central, uniting force ... Cousin Silas. 

On 1.1, Cousin Silas & his Friends bring to the table: longform ambient and unique sounds inspired by ska ... atmospheric soundscapes that use field recordings and tracks that feel like they were recorded in an out-of-the-way Blues club ... dark ambient eeriness and more percussive sounds. It is, without doubt, a varied set, one that will appeal to the curious and the adventurous in equal measure.

As mentioned above, this is the first part of the first Emporium Project ... you can expect four more parts in the coming days and weeks ... roughly ten hours in total and plenty to keep you occupied in the dark days of winter (in the Northern Hemisphere).

As before, we will use this series as an opportunity to give a little back to our wider community. All monies raised from the sale of this album will be donated to Hospice UK. I am both fortunate and grateful to work for an employer who actively matches all donations made ... so every purchase will be doubled for the benefit of a very worthy cause.

I really do hope you will enjoy this album as much as I have.

Jesse Brown is a Canadian pianist, composer, and recording artist who grew up in semi-seclusion in the frigid and unspoiled beauty of the natural world. Originally mentored by his mother, Jesse’s path was far from traditional, drawing influences from his older brother’s collection of hard rock cassette tapes and his father’s record collection of folk, blues, rock, and country music albums. It is not surprising to hear elements of these influences as you listen to Jesse’s contemporary classical compositions and recordings that have for the most part been recorded on an upright piano similar to the one of his childhood.
