Starborough's Passion, Obsession And Satisfaction Mix

Amalgam is the second single of the upcoming album by jazz pianist Joost Swart, drummer Bjorn Waling and producer Jesse Koolhaas. The recorded improvisations on grand piano, drums, and other instruments, combined with the sounds from Jesse Koolhaas’ vintage synthesizer collection and his experience as a film composer fuses into a refined blend of music. It’s electronic music mixed with jazz, funk and cinematic elements, and for Amalgam Danny Keen was asked to join in on electric guitar.

Six Shooter is a song that showcases the creativity and versatility of Joost Swart, Bjorn Waling, and Jesse Koolhaas. They recorded their improvisations on piano, drums, and various instruments, and mixed them with vintage synths and film scoring techniques. They also invited Reinier Baas and Jeroen Vierdag to add their guitar and bass skills to the track. Six Shooter is a song that will surprise and delight you with its musical diversity and richness.

Machine Cult is an electronic music platform based in Amsterdam hosted by Déandrah and Garçon Taupe. On one side, it functions as a record label. On the other, an event series. The release party for Edition Two will be taking place in OT301 (Amsterdam) on the 6th of April, featuring DJ sets by VOLPEVOLPE, Böhm, Aroy Dee, Freek Fabricius, Fast Ram and Déandrah who will be behind visual duties.



"Originally part of a live set I worked on after releasing The White Spider EP on Gooiland Elektro. I played it first in Gifgrond, an awesome DIY concert venue in Tilburg. Enfant Terrible put together a great lineup of live sets from myself, TWINS and Staatseinde. And then DJ M. (Enfant Terrible) finished the evening by unexpectedly, completely unnecessarily beating the attendees senseless with goth techno. And we loved it."

Barcelona’s Anbau (Aspecto Humano) debuts on Bordello with a Giro d’Italia themed EP. Dedicated to its heroic riders and specifically the late Marco Pantani. He broke through in 1994, winning one of the hardest Giro climbs with an incredible time record; the Passo del Mortirolo. He eventually became second in the final rankings of this legendary tour of Italy.

The release will be out on the 4th of May, kicking off the 108th edition of La Corsa Rosa. Every copy comes in a limited edition sleeve with a rare original Merlin collector’s sticker of the 78th Giro from ’95.

INCOMING : Aural Trace - White Rose #BordelloAParigi

When I was 15 years old I became friends with Robert. I must have met Roberts long time neighbor Jan Minkiewicz not long after. Jan, or Boris as everybody I knew called him, was Polish but lived in the Netherlands from a very young age. That didn’t stop him from feeling great commitment to the situation in Poland and it’s citizens. He was the official spokesman for Solidarnosc in West Europe during the 80’s and always remained a true activist. 

He would come to parties or watch Ajax games with us and although he was the age of my parents, he had a very youthful energy about him, always cheerful and ready to tell a story. I have great memories of talking to him about music and football, or just joking around.

In 2014, Jan died suddenly from a cardiac arrest. He was only 68, much too young for someone so full of life and energy. About a year and a half ago, I was at a dinner where I spoke to Jan’s wife Barbara. She knows I’m a big jazz fan and since Jan also was a big jazz enthusiast, she invited me to come and visit her to have a look at the collection of records she had lying around. This mix is a selection of the music I took home after that visit. Most of the artist are Polish and were unknown to me before hearing these records, but I’m very happy about the music I got to hear because of Barbara’s amazingly kind gesture. Here’s to you Boris!
