It's 10am. Sunlight radiates through the shutters in the Steam Room at London's Fold. Almost half way through Neighbourhood's 24 hour party, people are in their element. Some have been dancing all night; others are arriving fresh. The mood is excellent.

This is one of my favourite sets I have ever played. A deep, moody and energising journey heading into the second half of Neighbourhood's electrifying 15th birthday celebrations. Big up Tasha for having me play. No one does it better!

Last set of 2025 - big one with Timedance crew in Wuppertal (@opengroundclub) on the best club sound system in Europe, maybe the world?!? Was truly an honour to get to play here surrounded by friends. Everything from start to finish was done with such beautiful care and attention. Super proud of this one. Was a special feeling after I finished playing. All the emotions. Truly an amazing way to finish a crazy year. I am so so grateful.  

Notes for 2026 - pockets of happiness are beautiful, enjoy the things you've worked hard for, pause before the next thing starts eating you, hug your mates.

I've been thinking of forests a lot recently. Actually a lot over the last few years.. 

The complexity of the ecosystems and the organisms that work together to keep the forest alive. The power the forest presents. Sounds that soothe the soul, nature that leaves you in awe for how beautiful the world can be, but also the fear and worry that this living system can bring. I love the forest but you have to be careful there and pay respect. Move within the correct boundaries that Mother Earth allows us to.
	
This mix was inspired by how the forest makes me feel. Moments of happiness, relaxation, calm, but also uncertainty, worry, frustration and reward.
	
Maybe that feeling is felt too by the listeners :)

Severine’s sound places familiar rhythms in uncanny and disorienting spaces - nostalgia gives way to dislocation as sets move through different paces. Each destination transitory, the fluid approach to genre courses through the breadth of their sound, where the melodic sheen of 90s club rounds into the organic warmth of amphibious electro.

The line between the corporeal and machinic dissipates gently as your coaxed through the depths of off kilter techno. This connects with that old energy animating UK club music - the hardcore continuum, still vibrating with the unrealised futures of those halcyon dancefloors. Not revivalism, but a live current.

Sev’s sets find the non-time of rave, the space, the feeling in equal parts real and primordial, terrestrial and aquatic/cosmic, Tracks expand and contract with tidal logic… at times seemingly tranquil on the surface, carrying immense pressure beneath.

This mix is a nod to one of my projects, Guru Drift, a duo I’m running with another artist, Dites Safran. That project really shaped the way I approach production, so I wanted to reference it here, but through my current lens. I was aiming for something that feels ritualistic, percussive, instinctive. Electronic music that’s almost physical, something you feel in your body before you even process it mentally. The mix includes a lot of unreleased material, both from Guru Drift and from a few other artists who have been inspiring me lately. I also took some time to listen to other mixes from the Kinetic series, and I really connected with the concept of building a mix around a specific theme. That’s what pushed me to make something more personal, less formal, less club-oriented than what I usually play, and maybe a bit more intimate. I see this mix as a kind of collage. I layered in some field recordings I captured straight from my balcony in Nantes, and added a few synth textures on top. It was a super fun process, really playful and spontaneous. I just let myself experiment and build little sonic moments without overthinking it.

This Saturday I’m playing a live set for a Big Science party in Lyon, the lineup is stacked: NVST, Mika Oki, Jan Loup, Warzou, Gil Barte, bane:9, Flower B… It’s a daytime party and the spot looks amazing, so I’m really looking forward to that one. Then in May, I’ve got a cool gig at La Machine du Moulin Rouge in Paris with CCL and the Useless Seconds crew, that’s definitely a special one for me. I’m also playing at memòri festival this summer, this one will be huge !! Release-wise, I’ve got a track coming out at the end of March on a various artists compilation with useless seconds. On the side, I’m working on a few remixes, and I’ve got several tracks in the vault that will probably come out sometime this year. Nothing officially locked in yet, but things are moving.
