Program Note: "Dismal Harmony" is a surreal sonic expedition in four sections. Each section aims to capture the experience of a particular point along Dismal Brook in the Dismal Harmony natural area (Mendham, NJ). The piece's materials come both from the harmonies and textures that came out of a composing workshop with last year's wind symphony, and from my own time spent with the sounds of the park.
