Whiney’s underground drum & bass flare has flourished since signing exclusively to Med School. Now he’s set and ready to present his incredible debut album ‘Talisman’ - a symbol of his dedication to D+B with a strong 12-track collection of dancefloor weapons.

The hard-hitting album opener ‘Talisman’ sets the pace with epic musicality, industrial bleeps and fat, meaty basslines. Matching up with the heavyweight business are ‘Archive’ and ‘Rock Hopper’. Plus ‘Minds Collide’ can’t be missed – a middle-eastern influenced half-time stepper that matches up with the exuding attitude of ‘Portal’ that's already received support from neuro giants Noisia.

Whiney’s joined forces with Hospital’s Brazilian mastermind on ‘Sun Kissed’, balancing choppy vocal snippets with Urbandawn’s signature percussions and growling subs. Turning to melancholic movements is ‘The Farthest Shore’ and ‘Never Too Long’ the latter a collaboration with long-term label mate Keeno and lead by a strong vocal topline from Whiney himself. A final collaborative effort comes from Med School’s resident MC Inja who’s brought his lyrical genius to Whiney’s deep roller ‘Flashlight’.

For NVR052 Nu Venture Records present To Tulum | The Ghost, the 2 track release and the latest instalment from Manchester Drum and Bass duo Aardonyx.

[A] Aardonyx - To Tulum:
To Tulum is an accomplished mixture of frantic breakbeats and ethereal vocals, combined with dynamic synths and a dark but mesmerising groove. The track gets its name, and was inspired by and conceived during, a bus journey with the destination Tulum, Mexico. The remainder of the track was then further developed and polised in the studio while ensuring the initial influence of that Central American expedition was preserved.

[B] Aardonyx - The Ghost:
The accompanying track The Ghost features a minimal sound palette, with a mysterious yet sinister combination of classic synth and pad sounds, alongside a driving bass. The deep and minimalistic style proving to be the perfect contrast from the intensity of To Tulum, both of which showcase the producing talent and diversity, of the Aardonyx duo.

You Make Me Feel EP

Good Karma Music is a label who has been creating a solid place for themselves. But that’s not just within their local Australian scene; it’s across the global circuit too, where they’re slowly becoming a household name. The label has risen through the ranks in the last twelve months. They’re an imprint who has remained at the pinnacle of the underground, whilst catering to a range of tastes; not restricting themselves to one particular sound, their roster is a reflection of their imperative standards, which have maintained their ascent to the top. Forthcoming on the label is the ‘You Make Me Feel’ EP from Confusious, an artist who’s also made his mark within the growing heat around Good Karma Music and his next output demonstrates exactly why he’s garnered so much attention. From title-track ‘You Make Me Feel’, right through to the antiquated, rumbling beats of ‘Mass Appeal’, Confusious proves that he’s a force to be reckoned with.
The break-lead relays of 'You Make Me Feel' opens the LP, setting a bar which is dizzyingly high. 'Catharsis' has subterranean levels of bass which take you into much darker depths, peddling siren like bass movements that pushes the descent. 'I Put a Spell on You' oozes with a jazzier appeal, creating a driving rhythm alongside its rattling hooks. It's followed in quick succession by 'Insomnia', unstoppable in its distorted breakdowns and snapping levels of percussion. 'Mass Appeal' is gyrating alongside its punching sonics, the type of record which would find itself at home within any brooding club setting. And finally, 'If Only' channels more subdued vibes, reminiscing across a fresh sonic repertoire peppered with elevating synths and rolling bass notes. Coming together as a package, it’s a must have for any record collector looking to add an edge to their sets. It’s urgency is another reason why Good Karma Music are beginning to dominate clubland more and more with every release they unleash.
