Affirmations came about after having the boiler in my house serviced. The boiler engineer was a training psychotherapist. I was talking to him about music and addictions and my own issues "trying to get free help, that shit can be expensive". He was telling me about a program he has written to help people with addictions and other problems by using a set of Affirmations which are positive statements that describe a desired situation, and which are repeated many times, in order to impress the subconscious mind and trigger it into positive action. In order to ensure the effectiveness of the affirmations, they have to be repeated with attention, conviction, interest and desire. I try to practice these on a regular basis with my personal and work life. The track starts off with some spoken affirmations in a calm moody way, and then all hell breaks loose on the drop, kinda like someone relapsing. The calm before the storm!
