Presenting their final release of the year, Antrim’s Or Two Strangers welcomes Jesuan M back to the label for a new EP. Hailing from Argentina, Jesuan M has continued to rise since first emerging in 2019. Forging a bond with Or Two Strangers early in his production journey, Jesuan made his label debut in 2020 with a contribution to the label’s popular ‘Strangers 2’ collection, a track co-produced with Andres Moris which saw play from Hernan Cattaneo. Also, a regular on label affiliate Strangers Beats, Jesuan would once again pair with fellow countryman Andres Moris for the 2021 offering ‘Blooming Memories’, before going on to release what would have to be considered his best work to date in ‘Midnight Thoughts’, a two-track showcase which landed on Or Two Strangers last year. Now, as 2022 winds to a close Jesuan makes a much-anticipated return to the label with ‘Last Words’. 

Beginning with the quirky hooks and powerful drive of ‘Last Words’, Jesuan flexes his free-thinking muscles with a creation equally at home on a peak time dance floor or floating above a festival skyline. Its tough, rolling groove commands a big presence from the outset, adorned with fiery percussion and electric pulses which drive momentum forward. Cosmic effects and a hip-swinging arp steal the air across the first act, building anticipation towards a dynamic break and suitably euphoric finale. 

The companion piece ‘With You’ continues the progressive tone set by its predecessor and ultimately lands with an equally impressive display of craftsmanship. Possessing a dramatic undercurrent, the Argentine works hypnotizing percussion over chugging grooves and fragmented melodies, creating waves of ultrasonic energy across the first act. Its thrilling pulse builds during a dramatic break, where emotive bass swells prelude a thunderous drop and colourful melodic conclusion. An epic end to a fresh two-track showcase, one where Jesuan carefully balances rhythm and groove with technique and musicality.

Clubsonica opens the month of November by welcoming ELECGROUND to the label for their debut EP. Hailing from Russia and made up of Sergey Silvertone, Eugene Amadeus and Andrey Uchvat, ELECGROUND first emerged in 2022 with an EP via Beatfreak's Limited division. Releases via Digital Emotions, Future Avenue, La Foresta, and Magnitude, amongst others would follow across the next two calendar years, making the trio a rising force in Russia's electronic underground. Now, following a summer EP for AH Digital, ELECGROUND continues on an upwards trajectory, adding Clubsonica to their resume with ‘Intergalactic Monster | Humanity', alongside remixes from Juan Deminicis and Pablo Arbelaez.

Beginning with the fluid sounds of ‘Humanity', ELECGROUND aims squarely for the dancefloor with great success. A smooth DJ friendly intro sets the pace for swing heavy basslines, delicate arps and precise percussive arrangements to create an energetic first act. A series of emotive chord changes and youthful vocal elements carve out a rejuvenating path into the break, bringing with them a sense of hopeful anticipation. Spoken word vocals build intrigue across the interlude, all while maintaining a strong melodic quality, before a smooth build pushes onwards to a finale that is equal parts nostalgic and emotive. The equally impressive 'Intergalactic Monster' serves as the companion piece and complements its predecessor very well. Geared more towards groovier dancefloor moments, ELECGROUND's tried and tested production chops serve them well here, bursting with colourful qualities and a keen sense of rhythm and groove. A haunting lead theme conjures up bucolic imagery leading into the break, bringing with it a serene state of mind, as granular effects eventually reveal a vortex of noise, before getting washed away in a powerful finale complete with delicate chord stabs and growling synth mutations.

Returning to the label with the lone interpretation of ‘Humanity' is Pablo Arbelaez. With a sound that incorporates elements from deep, tech and progressive house, the Armenia resident first emerged in 2019 on the strength of early tracks ‘The Crowd' and ‘Galaxia'. The next five calendar years would see Pablo choose his projects wisely, adding BCSA, Sun Theory, and Transensations to his discography. Now, making a welcome return to the label for his first remix, Pablo delivers an enchanting take on ‘Humanity'. Landing with a resounding thump, Pablo finds success with a robust, dancefloor minded approach. Warm kick drums and shapely grooves marry beautifully with flickering percussion and mysterious vocal elements. Tasteful piano stabs create an enduring main theme leading into the break, ultimately highlighting the journey, flowing through emotive musical progression for equal amounts of exhilaration and serenity.

The release concludes with Juan Deminicis with the lone interpretation of ‘Intergalactic Monster'. Long a favourite of progressive music's top tastemakers, the Argentinean artist has released on the genre's finest imprints, with Cid Inc's Replug Records, Guy J's Lost & Found and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music all being regular homes for the talented Argentine. Also, no stranger to Clubsonica, the Buenos Aires resident has released four original productions and two remixes since making his label debut in 2017. Now, as 2024 reaches its final quarter, Juan returns to Clubsonica with a groovy rendition of 'Intergalactic Monster'. Bringing a contemporary club-effective state of mind, Juan reassembles the themes from the original for his own unique and dubbed out approach. Timely effects and shapeshifting overlays co-ax perfectly atop precise kick drums and chugging grooves, for what results in a tasteful and groove-centric rendition to round out the release in style.

The latest release on Madloch's Sound Avenue finds the label showcasing the fourth and final remix edition for about:rivers' 24 Years Apart album. Himbrecht, a talented producer from Romania, makes his label debut with a beautiful remix of "Pluck". Previously releasing on prestigious labels such as Nie Wieder Schlafen, Natura Sonoris, and Where The Heart Is, Himbrecht's addition to the project brings a fresh and emotional touch to the album. All remixes for "Moonlight" came together through a remix contest organized by Dailyplaylists, with Fede Archdale from Mexico, St.Ego from Russia, and Veronica Feel from Australia emerging as winners. Featured as bonus tracks on the streaming release are the runner-up remixes by Peres from Poland and ODAX from Spain, both of which add a unique flair to the collection.

'Continuing a stellar career path that has seen regular return visits to the Proton Music catalogues, Juan Deminicis delivered another scintillating offering via his "Synchronicity" EP. Originally released in June 2020, we now return to the second track with fresh remixes of "Sounds of Freedom" from the Sri Lanka and the Netherlands.

Hailing from the Colombo capital, Subandrio Sinhawansa is a multiple award-winning 'Middle East DJ' of the year. Able to point to a glittering career that has seen performances across his Sri Lankan home and beyond, Subandrio's Global Mission project has seen a Frisky Radio show of the same name used as a vehicle to showcase a wide variety of underground dance gems.

Through a similarly impressive production career, music for John 00 Fleming's JOOF, Stan Kolev and Matan Caspi's Outta Limits and Paul Hazendonk's MNL, tell their own story of Subandrio's success as do a quintet of remixes on Proton Music for the likes of Tim Penner, Andre Sobota, Matter and Trilucid. Now returning for a sixth outing, Subandrio's "Global Mission Remix" is a beautifully crafted affair that bristles with bassline groove and perfect percussive syncopation. Building in energy, echoes of "Sounds of Freedom" can be heard through Juan Deminicis' arpeggiated line, before the central motif emerges at the mid-point with ease. Heading into the second half with additional production material, the return of the deep rolling percussive groove, married to the key motif from the original, provides a genuine showcase for Subandrio's creativity and ear for the dancefloor to shine.
