Welcome back to our podcast series!

We are delighted to have Hungarian born, Zurich based dj, and founder of BEKOOL series, @curtiss as our narrator for this week's episode.

Curtiss have been working as a DJ and promoter since 2008 when he organised parties in Hungary. In 2010 he became a resident DJ in the Bora Bora Lounge in Dunaujvaros and he also opened two night clubs in Dunaujvaros and Siofok in 2010 and 2011.
Later in 2012 he moved to Switzerland where he played some big clubs such as Jack Club in Bern, Club Sleepless in Aarau and 696 Club in Zurich and in 2014 he was contracted as a resident DJ in the Terrasse Bar in Zurich.
His passion for electronic music lead him to create BEKOOL series, which is one of the most promising music concepts in Zurich and which is broadcasted on Radiodeep.net.

Music was very important to me as a child.
First of all hang up because of the love of music and for the lovers of electronic music.
For me it is very important to animate the party people to dance and to steadily increase them to bring my tracks to a boil on the dance floor.

On August 4th, 2020, the city of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, witnessed one of the most powerful non-nuclear explosions in the history of mankind. Causing at least 204 deaths, 4 missing, 6,500 injuries, $15 billion dollars in property damage, and leaving an estimated 300,000 people homeless.

The explosion was felt in Turkey, Syria, Palestine and parts of Europe, and heard in Cyprus, more than 250 km (160 mi) away. It was detected by the United States Geological Survey as a seismic event of 3.3 magnitude on the Richter Scale.

Seen through live video footage, the shockwaves were immediately felt globally as Beirut became the hometown to every global citizen.

Appropriately named Beirutna, meaning OUR Beirut when translated into Arabic (بيروتنا) is what the city became amid this tragedy that rippled through the hearts of people around the world.

The explosion came at a time when the country was already suffering from a financial crisis, economic collapse, hyperinflation, political unrest, anti-corruption protests, armed clashes and a global pandemic.

Ready Mix Records' team have joined forces with over 25 artists from around the world to create this wonderful musical journey that inspires universal hope, love, peace, unity, positivity, courage, strength and dedication for the people of Beirut.

We would like to thank the Ready Mix Records family of artists, photographers, designers, fans, followers, supporters and everyone who contributed to this project in one way or another. We are grateful and humbled by your generosity, compassion, empathy, positivity, love and support during these though times.

All proceeds of this VA Compilation will be donated directly to Tunefork Studios, an artist fund in charge of helping artists and musicians who are mostly affected by the Lebanese economic crisis, the port explosion and COVID19.
