Frankfurt based producer dj/producer Martin Heimann presents his debut single “Salto” on Carry On. Remaining faithful to its name, the small label puts out another piece of limited wax every once in a long while. Enrooted  in  the  soundscapes  of  80's  proto-house,  the original  version  of  Salto  is  a thriving  piece  of  octave  liberation.  Consistent  changes  between  harmonics  break  up  the repetitive structure, while FM pads and the 303 are performing a little duet.
The release is ennobled by two proper remixes from LYO favorites Moon B and Jex Opolis ! Jex remix here featured comes with some embellishment to the cords, change in the bassline and a nice 808 snap. On top Mr Opolis adds some mysterious and cheesy vocals samples that match perfect with the moody 80's orchestral stabs, dope ! Expected for end march

Let’s face it, summer in New York City is sweltering. Even with all the windows open and fans on high, it is hard to find refuge in Alliance Upholstery’s Chinatown offices. Today’s sweat though, is due to the “Dancer on the Shore” EP, the latest release by the Brooklyn based band, Lemonade (Cascine/True Panther Sounds). “Dancer” is a subdued summertime collage of steel drums, buoyant electronic pads and windswept vocals. Joined by Dee Dee from Dum Dum Girls, it is a celebration of the space where humans and nature exist in harmony. Originally released digitally as a single on Cascine in 2015, the band created a DJ friendly extended mix for this release. If you have been to the “Air A Dancer” party over the last few seasons, you have likely already heard it (sometimes twice in one night!). If that wasn’t enough to pique your interest, the remixes put this one over the top. First, the Jex Opolis (Good Timin’/Running Back) Dub picks it up in his Cutlass Supreme (look at his Kingdom, look at his car) with a full day of activities planned. Top down, wind in your hair, cooler full of ice, spf a million; this is Eddie Grant approved dub at beach. Think California Style in Long Island. After sundown, the Whatever/Whatever (Justin Strauss and Bryan Mette) mix builds a bonfire in the dunes. Hard hitting drums and soaring synths make this mix perfect for dancing all night and howling at the moon. As the night gives way to morning, Jex’s vocal remix wipes the sand off your feet, finds your lost t-shirt, and gets you ready for new day.

French producer Jules Etienne reappears with a 3 track EP including a Jex Opolis remix on Barcelona's finest disco imprint Apersonal Music. Jules shows his most elaborated work to date evolving to a more band oriented production filled with plenty of live instruments and vocals as seen on "Free as a man" and "Dont want to talk about it". On the B side "Rhythm for the garden part I" is a mad ride driven by live percussions and a drum machine. Canadian producer Jex Opolis who has been releasing top stuff through his own Good Timin' label comes on board on the release remixing "Free as a man". Guilty pleasures all around.

Just in time to warm up your winter, Hell Yeah revisit the peerless recent Tsuki album from ambient and Balearic masters Tempelhof & Gigi Masin. 

It is Corner Song that gets remixed by Good Timin’ and Running Back man Jex Opolis. Famous for his disco infused synth pop sound he is a master of his own musical world. His version is eight minutes of laid-back tropicalia. Slowly churning drums and knotted funk-bass prop it up as an eco-system of pops, clicks and hits add to the steamy and sensuous groove.

Dance for Relief is a project that's been on our minds for a while as a way using our music to help raise funds for causes that we are passionate about. With the world currently struggling with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic now felt like it would be the right time to get this project started.

The first project under this banner is a compilation of edits, remixes and secret weapons from various friends, with Volume 1 focusing on cosmic, tribal and trancey sounds of the 90s.

All money from this release will go straight to Direct Relief (directrelief.org), a charity who's mission is to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies, and who are doing great work to ensure that protective gear and critical care medications get to as many health workers as possible. We felt they were a particularly both in the midst of current Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.

Finally, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all the artists involved who have given their skills and time during a difficult period to help make this release happen in support of a worthy cause.
