A re-upload from the dearly departed Krossfingers blog and mix series. This was originally mixed in 2016 in my old apartment in Bedstuy on my two worn-out Tech 12s. All wax, mostly found at A1 Records in NYC which was my office of sorts for about five years. I didn't have a day job so was there 2-3 times a week looking for dollar bin records (a few of which have since been reissued lol). I'd spend a few hours there and spend maybe $50, get a bunch of great stuff (and plenty of duds too) and then bike home. It was a nice chapter in my life!

Number 4 in the Bad Timin' series is out May 12, featuring a quartet of shovel-ready tunes perfect for ur club set, radio show or gym session.

Six months in the making, the "Sound Man" (aka Jex Opolis) spent the extended winter slumped in his studio crafting these tunes...

And with Summer on the brink, it’s time to release the beats.

"Pneumatic" builds pressure with crunchy synth riffs, while "Molecools" drops slide guitar over some proggy breaks.

Filling out the EP are two mixes of "Catalytic," a tune that came to life after the muffler on Jexy's 2003 Toyota went kaput.

Electro, disco-chic, doused in gooey pop, sultry silk, and retro synth-boogie. Dekmantel welcomes the good time vibes of Canadian selector, and retrotastic, vibe-poppin’ producer Jex Opolis. Cult figure, obsessive Discog-er and Good Timin’ boss, the Brooklyn-based, Canadian has etched out a global reputation with his exotic taste of lo-fi, party productions, with this — his Dekmantel debut — not straying far from the formula. On Earth Boy, the hit making powerhouse turns up the synth furore to maximum, with electro and Italo all blending together, in a powerful melee of beachtime house, and crushing sunset disco. With its cliquey stomps and robot pulses, and nods to the wave-style records that empties so many of Jex’s sets, 'Earth Boy' is classic future disco. Braver souls may embrace the vocal mix when it comes to playing out, with its compassionate overtones and soft celled-bassline. From Gino Soccio's early productions in Witch Queen to his robotic, Italo-inspired masterpiece "Remember," this 57-minute mix takes a portrait of the disco artist as a young man. Soccio's output abruptly ended in the mid-1980s and Soccio dropped out of public view, but his legend has only grown in recent years. DJ Jex Opolis (aka Jered Stuffco) threw the mix together while researching Soccio for Wax Poetics magazine. In the words of Gino, try this mix out! Tracklist is in the comments.
