Current obsessions: Bach, Bartok, Janacek

Our story is very much like “The Pina Colada” song except we weren’t lovers looking for other lovers and there wasn’t an ad in the newspaper. 
However, there was a craigslist ad...and so our story begins. An ad and a few emails later Nina and J meet and began working on music. Most of it texted back and forth as Nina wrote songs in hotel rooms while traveling for work. Within two months, three songs were born and it was time to find the missing link...a bassist and a drummer.
Another Craigslist ad, a few more emails and one jam session later enter Rob, a drummer with a rehearsal space (score!) and a friend named Ed who could sling a mean bass (double score!), to complete our rock ‘n’ roll family.
So, if you like rock ‘n’ roll and getting caught in the pit. If you’re not into Yanni, if you have half a brain. If you like rocking out at midnight, in some dark dingy bar, we’re the band you’ve been looking for, write to us and escape.

FANTASTIC NEGRITO

...is the incarnation of a musician who is reborn after going through a lot of awful shit. In fact, the name Fantastic Negrito represents his third rebirth, literally coming back from death this time. The narrative on this man is as important as the sound, because the narrative is the sound. Songs born from a long hard life channeled through black roots music. Slide guitar, drums, piano. Urgent, desperate, edgy. Fantastic Negrito is the story of a man who struggled to “make it”, who “got it”, who lost it all, and somehow managed to find his way back. These are singular songs by a true musician who writes and produces his own work. His songs are his fuel as he continues on the third comeback of his life, at a time when our world is in upheaval.
