Two champions of sound collide on Hospital Records as the infamous grime legend P Money joins forces with drum & bass innovator Whiney. Signing to the south London drum & bass authority for an exciting album project on the horizon, this fusion of sounds is set to ignite the world of bass music like never before. 

P Money and Whiney have carved out their own lane regardless of tempo or style. With P Money gaining legendary status within the grime community from starting out in the early 2000s, previously collaborating alongside Dizzee Rascal, Ocean Wisdom, Giggs, D Double E and Lady Leshurr. He has since been the mastermind behind countless hits including ‘Shook’, ‘Dubsteppin’ and ‘Lamborghini (feat. KSI)’, as well as delivering flows into the dance music scene for the likes of Wilkinson, Kanine, and Magnetic Man.

Injecting a fresh approach to the realms of 174BPM is exactly what’s been done. Drum & bass prodigy Whiney provides a venomous roller for ‘Buss The Red’, constructed with sharp edged drums, a gliding 808 bassline, and moody horns. All of which lay the perfect foundation for the versatile flows of P Money with his rapturing vocals and raw lyricism. Once again proving himself as a producer who knows how to tailor a beat. Whiney has recently wrapped his widely acclaimed three-part ‘Bubblers’ EP series which was home to his original drum & bass and grime infusion banger ‘Headlines’ featuring north London’s Subten, as well as producing Inja’s second studio album ‘Smile & Wave’. 

After previously bringing his signature vibe to drum & bass, dubstep and punk, P Money is more than ready to dig deeper into the drum & bass scene. In his own words, “it’s a bit like when I went into dubstep and people labelled me as ‘the King of Dubstep’ ‘cos I was the only guy to do vocal tunes and do well within the scene. I want to do that with drum & bass now where I bring my grime style to it and open new doors, bring a new type of sound and wave.”

Hospital Record’s soulful drum and bass aficionado Makoto is back with his seventh studio album, ‘Motion Of Change’. Following on from his popular ‘What You Need’ EP and the vibrant ‘Maybe We’ll Make It (feat. Mark Force and Archaik)’, his new album brings a blend of jungle, jazz, funk, and soul with Makoto’s signature euphoric touch. With over twenty years in the game, Makoto’s immaculate discography and signature sound have seen the Japanese born producer pave the way for liquid drum & bass all the way into 2022. A true pioneer of his craft since his Good Looking Records days of the late 90s, he’s since racked up an impressive amount of releases on Innerground, UKF, Liquid V and his very own imprint Human Elements.

More recently, Makoto’s output includes his two Hospital albums ‘Salvation’ (2017) and ‘Tomodachi Sessions’ (2019), and the hugely popular ‘What You Need’ ft Vonne selected as the first ever drum & bass track to be played on Sarah Story’s BBC Radio 1 Future Dance show, alongside support from the likes of DJ Marky, Bryan Gee, Flava D, Nu:Tone, Lenzman and more.

The motivational ‘Step Into Your Power’ features ravishing vocals from rising D+B superstar Ruth Royall. Makoto’s production skills don’t go a miss as he cooks up luscious pad hits and a booming bottom end. With the pair recently releasing the flavourful ‘New Love’ on Soulvent Records, expect good vibes galore as two of the most uplifting sound suppliers in drum & bass collide once again.

Makoto unleashes spaced out synth work, soulful guitar licks and a dynamic crescendo of instrumentation on album title track ‘Motion Of Change’ with Hospital Records’ latest signing, the immensely talented singer-songwriter, SOLAH delivering sweet melodies and majestic high notes.

Makoto travels into deeper territories on ‘Explorer’ ft Degs, as he provides grittier production complete with a moody bassline. Labelmate and multi-talented vocalist, MC and producer Degs dishes out a slew of dynamic bars and dreamy harmonies for the pair’s first collaboration since ‘Illuminate’ on Makoto’s ‘Tomodachi Sessions’ in 2019.

Embracing his love for the original sound of the 90’s, the junglistic instrumental ‘Ascender’ brings future-retro synthesis, crisp cut breakbeats and a summery ambience that lays the foundation for the perfect sub-heavy slammer.

Makoto and London-based singer Karina Ramage reunite on ‘Without You’ after previously collaborating on ‘Shine On Through’, ‘I Don’t Wanna Wake Up’ and Forza favourites ‘Wading Through The Crowds’ and ‘Trial Mountain’. Karina’s soothingly crafted vocals compliment the sincere violins and trademark production prowess from Makoto, making ‘Without You’ another future soulful singalong anthem.

The album also features an eclectic mixture of both fresh and legendary talent from across the drum & bass circuit and beyond, brace yourself for a dynamic streak of sonic contributions from the likes of Singing Fats, Cleveland Watkiss, Liane Carroll, Lauren Archer, Rasmus Faber, Pete Simpson, LXT, and Helena May. You’ll be able to catch Makoto in the Albanian sun this summer at Hospitality On The Beach to soak up those ultimate feel-good vibes!

We are extremely proud to present our brand new ‘Ultrasounds’ release series where we work with some of the best in drum and bass. Producer and DJ Villem kick starts the series, he’s no stranger to Hospital and Med School with previous releases ‘We Had A Song’ on the Hospitality House Party compilation and his EP ‘Shimmer’. Villem continues to prove why he is a staple of the D&B scene. The Ipswich born native has a reputation as one of the most versatile producers in the scene switching his sound from jungle to liquid and is known for putting his signature funk and soul twists on dancefloor bangers.

Covering the ‘Last One Standing’ by the psychedelic soul band Monophonics. Villem brings us summery sounds with soul and ska influences which feature a soulful delivery from Nottingham born singer Tom Wardle. Expect hypnotising horns, tight hi-hats and mesmerising snares guaranteed to get you swaying in the dance.
Crisp drum work, serenading melodies and an upbeat tempo lay the foundation for a vibey reggae dub track ‘Day Equals Night’. Further demonstrating his versatile production and tastemaking abilities.

The final track, ‘Slow Burn’ sees Villem go into slightly darker territories until he builds the track up to an enlightening head-nodder. He crafts up fast drums, atmospheric pads, heavenly piano chords and flirtatious synths that will transcend listeners into another realm…this one’s a slow burner.

Over the last decade, Villem has released music on Hospital Records, Good Looking Records and Spearhead. He is also a part of the duo with Mcleod. His musical versatility and signature production has seen him rake up support from the likes of dBridge, Alix Perez, London Elektricity and Doc Scott. Alongside creating magic in the studio Villem teaches drum and bass writing and runs his own label imprint Murkt.

Drum & bass heavyweights Serum, Voltage and Bladerunner, aka Kings Of The Rollers have entered the ring once again to deliver a 4-track smasher. Pushing the boundaries of D+B to the ropes, ‘The Main Event’ EP is a flawless infusion of each individual style, creating the perfect storm.

A certified knockout D+B banger with an epic introduction that has been doing damage in raves worldwide, ‘XXX’ kicks off the EP with intriguing synth plucks and a sweeping yet powerfully subtle bassline. Next up is the Circuits Rewire of ‘Burnt Ends’, a deeper take from Kasra & InsideInfo of the iconic tearout bruiser. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any darker, the latest rendition of the game-changing roller packs new punches with twisted melodies and a thumping bassline from these deep D+B standouts.

The elegant piano melodies and the angelic notes of Lydia Plain on ‘Somebody Else’ ease the listener into the second half of ‘The Main Event’. It’s not long before crunchy wobbles and singalong vocals take centre stage. Bubbly yet dark, you’ll certainly want to keep your guard up. Rounding off the EP is ‘Solar Heat’, nostalgic arpeggios rest upon trance inducing pads before modulated reeses and rolling drums kick in to deliver a finishing blow.

On top of cooking up layout anthems, Kings Of The Rollers are renowned for their high energy sets and innovative mixing styles. The trio have headlined an array of festivals and large scale shows across the globe, including their own Royal Rumble event series. ‘The Main Event’ EP was originally destined to accompany their biggest headline show to date at London’s legendary venue Printworks. Sadly due to the 2020 COVID-19 crisis, this event was postponed, but you won’t catch these guys throwing in the towel. They’ll be back with a vengeance, so make sure to keep an eye out for what these three D+B royals have in store…
