KEVOH YOUT’S PROFILE
Kevohyout: “the youts-dem-evangelist” as he popularly defines himself, a very energetic stage performer, the Dancehall Reggae sensation, famous for his unmistakable pidgin flow. 
Kevin “Kevohyout” Ochanda is definitely one of East Africa’s fastest rising stars.


He ventured into the musical world first as a hip hop artist following his brother’s footsteps but later switched to his first love Dancehall. He performed at school events, clubs such as Florida 2000 and neighborhood battles always emerging tops at every challenge. He later gave his life to Christ in the year 2005 and since then, the artist purposed to reach out and lead as many people as possible to his new found faith using Dancehall music.
He made his big break into the music industry when PHAT records signed him for a one year recording deal in the year 2006 where he record several tracks, releasing a five track pre-album in the year 2007 titled REACHING OUT. The pre- album contained songs such as “Praise Him” which later became a hit clenching the number 1 spot in the weekly “home grown” show on “Metro FM” for 5 consecutive weeks. Since then, this phenomenal artisthas been riding high recording hit after hit.
He later recorded his debut album titled ‘DETERMINATION’ in 2010, featuring artist such as Mr. T, Michelle (former member of CHIT CHAT), Kristine Ndela, Mc Dice and Shem (wernono crew). The Album produced a couple of hit songs such as SOULJAH, NO MORE, and DETERMINATION which is the title track of the album. It did so well in the Market and it got and still is getting a lot of air play in most Radio/TV stations all over the country.
       He now has finished recording his second album titled ‘DANCEHALL CLEAN UP’ which is currently wreaking havoc in the Dancehall circles. Three songs from the album namely NI WEWE, HANDS INNA DE AIR, & NUMBER 1 have already been released and are doing incredibly well in terms of air play.
Kevohyout is a consistent image in the entertainment industry and participates in some of the most prestigious events. He has so far opened up for international artists Sherwin Gardner, Damita Haddon, Marvin Winans and Isaac Blackman. He also Performed at the Groove awards 2011. He has been nominated at the prestigious groove awards five times, that is; in the most promising artist category 2008, Ragga/Reggae Song of the year(No More) category 2009,Male Artist of the Year category 2011,Album of the Year(Determination) category 2011,Ragga/Reggae Song of the Year(Determination) category 2011.
Kevohyout was nominated for the KISIMA AWARDS 2011, In the Ragga/Reggae Category which he won despite the stiff competition from other nominees who were Redsan, Sauti Sol, Wahu, Wyre and Proff .
He defines his mission as “kevohyout is a yout who is totally sold out for Christ and his mission, vision and ambition is to impact the youth with the truth and fill the hearts & the minds of the youth with purpose”
