This song started its life as one of a batch of bass lines Josh came up with around the New Year holiday. He recorded it to a rudimentary drum loop, which Ken replaced perfectly with his own beat. Stephen joined the project next, adding his chordally flavorful, foundational guitar you hear underlying the entire song. Not to miss out on the guitaring, Tez came up with the ethereal guitar fills that float around in there. Mark came after Tez with his textural wah clavinet, also adding the wonderful sax solo you hear in the middle. 
  After it was done musically, Josh went back and wrote some lyrics and sang them, too.
  Once it was in the can, we asked Tez to do the honors of mixing it for us, which he did in his always expert fashion. 
  This is a fine example of the Eclectic Collective coming together to create a heartfelt song.  We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Reimagining Below the Sky (Wilfried Hanrath & Hega)

One of my favourite Soundcloud artists @remnant60 posted a gorgeous track that he left open for collaboration, so I jumped at the chance to try and add something that might fit with his ambient, mystical guitar sound. I settled on some ethereal cello chords (played on keyboard with some pitch bend modulation) and this is the result. I try to recommend listening with headphones when I think it's worth it, and I think it applies in this case.  :)

Humans are the only species who preserve a lasting relationship from parents to children and vice versa after the offspring has reached adolescence. This can be curse and blessing at the same time in some cases, but overall it is a gift in my view. We will stay the children of our parents for a lifetime obviously. Once you have realized this and don't consider it a threat anymore you are given the chance to close the circle in a peace- and beautiful way.

Hello… thanks for dropping by. This song is a loud, electric-slide song. It has overdriven slide, some homemade (learning how to:no drum kit) percussion, a vocal harmony and gravely vocals. I am happy I am able to do this at all, at 68 years of age… especially singing, which greatly wanes with age. (I really just started to sing within the last decade or so.) Traveling On… may be seen as a metaphor, or not, it doesn’t really matter. It might signify personal change or a movement toward and/or away from something. There is a hint of recognition, insofar as the unwavering essence of who we are… There is a suggestion of working toward peace. Again, this could be seen as metaphorical, in a sense of personal introspection. What do we espouse, condone and accept in this life for ourselves and society? Do you want to ‘Travel On’? Un soir de l’été 1962, Serge Gainsbourg dîne chez son amie Juliette Gréco. Un rendez-vous précieux puisqu'il lui inspire un des standards de la chanson française. Le lendemain, l’auteur envoie à la chanteuse des orchidées et ce titre dont elle crée la première version. Cette ballade aux accents pop évoque le souvenir d’une danse baptisée la Javanaise et d’un amour fugace. « Nous nous aimions le temps d’une chanson » chante à son tour Gainsbourg. One evening in the summer of 1962, Serge Gainsbourg dined with his friend Juliette Gréco. A precious rendezvous since it inspires one of the standards of French song. The next day, the author sends the orchid singer and this title she creates the first version. This ballad with the accents pop evokes the memory of a dance baptized the Javanaise and a fleeting love. "We loved the time of a song," sang Gainsbourg in his turn. The audience long sulked this title, before rediscovering it in the 80s. Today, this tube is the one that brings the most copyright to his heirs, given the number of versions.
