Love songs disguised as laments, set in a world where courting and the romantic thrill of the chase has degenerated into game playing and text messages. The juxtaposition of angular electronics with fuzz drenched, organic bass guitar perfectly imparts the mood of a romantic struggling with love in an indifferent century.

Lo-Fi Glam Surf Indie Pop band from the northwest of England.

Formed in the spring of 1986 as a proto White Stripes/Wham! hybrid, The Freedom Circle's first recording was a cover of Skids' 'Melancholy Soldiers' with new lyrics entitled 'Oh! Oh! Let's Begin!'. Ditching the drum kit & the tennis shorts that summer,  the nucleus of Haddelsey & Freemantle was augmented for the next 12 months by a drum machine called Dr Stix, a briefcase, a fellow who lived by the grave sites of The Moors Murderer's child victims & their very own Arnold Layne respectively. The band played the first of their only two live shows at the legendary Venue Fifty Something in Nottingham in 1987, where they refused to take the stage until the whole eight minutes of their intro tape, The Velvet Underground's 'The Gift', had finished. After this, there was no time left to play any of their own songs and the band broke up amid acrimony and a case of underwear theft shortly after. Reforming in 2012 with the completely original line-up, these are the fruits of their first  few alcohol fuelled sessions for your aural refusal. Old Breastonians Forever...
