Nacidas de polvo cósmico, y muriendo en esplendor.  
**Born from cosmic dust, and dying in splendor.**  

Luego, un pequeño planeta—azul, frágil.  
**Then, a small planet—blue, fragile.**  

¿Qué secretos guarda su piel?  
**What secrets does its skin hold?**  

Ríos susurrantes, montañas silenciosas.  
**Whispering rivers, silent mountains.**  

La vida brotó, como un verso olvidado.  
**Life sprang forth, like a forgotten verse.**  

Peces que soñaban en aguas profundas.  
**Fish dreaming in deep waters.**  

¿Sabías que cada uno de ellos lleva un eco del universo?  
**Did you know each of them carries an echo of the universe?**  

Y en la trama, el ser humano.  
**And in the weave, humanity.**  

¿Quiénes somos, realmente?  
**Who are we, really?**  

Creadores y destructores, soñadores y temerosos.  
**Creators and destroyers, dreamers and fearful.**  

Construimos torres, pero también murallas.  
**We build towers, but also walls.**  

La avaricia, un oscuro velo.  
**Greed, a dark veil.**  

¿Por qué tememos compartir la luz?  
**Why do we fear sharing the light?**  

Caminamos entre sombras y luces.  
**We walk between shadows and lights.**

**Roaring wars, whispers of peace.**

**In each life, a chord; in each breath, a universe.**

Sempiternal

Written for 12 piece string ensemble, the piece is based on the sight and feeling of looking out to sea. Using each instrument to evoke the layers of that view, the piece includes random - or aleatoric - elements, allowing the players to interpret parts of the score, meaning no two performances are quite the same - like the sea and sky themselves.
