The AutistiX band was formed in April 2010, springing out of an initiative created by The Camden Society, for young people with disabilities to make music together.  

The band members with Autism are all gifted musically but, due to their disabilities, have had challenges developing social skills, making friends or finding opportunity to form bands or perform. Coming together to form ‘The AutistiX’ has provided these special musicians with a chance to make friends, channel their talents and perform in front of enthusiastic audiences. 

The band initially worked on popular covers by Nirvana, Coldplay, Oasis and The Beatles but soon started to write original lyrics and music including ‘I Guess I’ll See You’, ‘I Can’t Take It Anymore’, ‘Darkness World’, ‘The Good and Bad in All of Us’, ‘Hard to Reach’, ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Massive Star’, ‘a rocked up “Head, Shoulder, Knees and Toes’, with new songs in process!

The band recently recorded our third EP, The Meadow Sunshine, featuring new songs 'Positive', 'Not The Same', 'My Future Life' and "Heaven'. We recorded the songs with Gaetano Serra from Evergreen Studios at Cable Street. It was mastered by Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road Studios.
The AustistiX love to perform, and have performed over 60 gigs at a variety of concerts including mainstream gigs, charity events, schools and colleges, summer festivals, even tv!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

The band has just been accepted to the European programme ‘Youth in Action’, run by The British Council, and will participate in an exchange project with a disability band of young people with Downs’ Syndrome, called ‘Motxila 21’ from the Basque country. They are due to travel to Northern Spain late in May to perform a number of gigs with Motxila 21 to showcase the musical talent and potential of people with disabilities and the valuable contribution they have to make to society.

Here you'll find songs and demos written by the collective 'Habilis' from the town of Biggleswade, UK. Like the town name, the musicians and contributers are unique consisting of bartenders, teachers, firefighters, music enablers, gas engineers, and tradesmen. When they're not working they can be found creating music in their own 'Sloth Studios' that they built and mashed together themselves from recycled materials. Open to collaboration, Habilis will continue to grow and evolve.
