I sketched out a woodwind melody 2018 and put it away not knowing what to do with it. Almost 2 years later when reading Mary Shelley’s 1826 “The Last Man” I had the idea to write a “end of the world” piece and remembered the melancholy melody from 2018. Shelley’s book describes how in the late 21st Century the whole world is ravaged by a pandemic that sweeps across the globe (imagine that). Shelley states that in 1818 she discovered, in the Cumaean Sibyl’s cave near Naples, a collection of prophetic writings painted on leaves. Shelley's The Last Man is considered the first piece of dystopian fiction.

I am an amateur composer, producer and musician who has been inspired and influenced by music my entire life.  Beyond my interests in developing harmony and rhythm ideas, a song’s timbres and textures have always held a deeper emotional grip on me.  This passion for tone has dominated my compositions and productions, which are combined with playful melodies and progressions that are immersed in sophisticated soulful beats.

My focus is on songs, on composition, not on style or genre. The songs  usually have lots of space for improvisation. 

I use a simple little application called "Guitar Pro", not really fit for producing, but a dream come true for rough little sketches like these...

The sound production team RoGeR consists of Rob and Gerard, who have been exploring diverse sounds, synths, and samples for over 35 years. Their musical journey began in the 1980s with the band Just Us, where Gerard played synths and Renny (R.I.P.) played guitar, alongside an opera-trained singer. Rob served as the band's sound and technical engineer. Just Us's unique blend of operatic vocals and New Wave, influenced by bands like The Cure and Cocteau Twins, found success performing across the Netherlands.

After Just Us disbanded, Gerard, Rob, and Renny continued their musical pursuits. Rob and Renny formed Tranceformers, driven by their passion for danceable, hypnotic beats, but this ended tragically with Renny's untimely death in 2015.

Rob (aka Random Vision) and Gerard (aka Dev-G) then formed RoGeR, crafting their own genre-defying style. Each track starts from scratch, inspired by anything from current events to a simple sound. Their musical influences span across eras and genres, including Genesis, Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode, Underworld, Billie Eilish, Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, and the legendary Sinéad O'Connor, Philip Glass, Simeon ten Holt, Peter Gabriel and many more.
