Finn comes of age with a five-track EP for Local Action.

Finn's debut single 'Keep Calling' was an instant hit. Played relentlessly by DJs like Slackk, Mr Mitch, DJ Q, Kode9, Murlo and Eclair Fifi, it introduced the world to Finn's sample-heavy blend of grime, r'n'b and US club music, and was one of the year's best-received singles (#6 track of the year on Juno.) It's also responsible for one of the best ever Boiler Room singalongs.

As well as a producer, Finn has emerged as one of the best new DJs around, with a knowledge of r'n'b, Baltimore and Jersey club, house, garage and grime beyond his years, and co-produced 'Final Warning', a hit for grime's latest star-in-the-making Jammz.

On Knock Knock Finn draws upon the history of sample-based club music once again, from the breathless hip-hop of Just Blaze and Heatmakerz, Roule and Dance Mania's loopy house, Low Deep and Iron Soul's chipmunk grime and American club styles. Plenty of people are chopping samples into contemporary club music at the moment, but with his uncanny knack for structure and a DJ's ear for what works best on a dancefloor, few people are doing it with as much success as Finn.

Tobago Tracks co-founder Sylvere returns with a hypnotic three- song EP for the label. With vocal-based tracks and sensual, sparse rhythms, Katsu Katsu reflects a new direction for the Parisian producer. Title track ‘Katsu Katsu’ receives two interpretations, the first featuring debut vocals from Sylvere himself and the second being led by Roz Mihah Drey. This is a breezy, dripping EP to roll in the summer.

Leisure System; the collective, label and 4-year long famed Berghain party is back with a very special fourth addition to its catalogue: the inaugural release from JETS - a project which pairs two of dance music’s most eccentric and distinctive personalities, Jimmy Edgar and Travis Stewart (aka Machine Drum).

Having been friends for over 12 years, it was inevitable that a project like this would finally come into being. After living in New York, touring Japan together and now taking full time residency in Berlin, the self-titled EP marks the culmination of roughly four years of staggered yet perpetual collaboration between the duo. Taking recognisable elements of electronic dance music and subtly transforming them into something altogether new, the result is more than the sum of its parts.

The alignment of both celebrated producers’ music as one creates something altogether new and yet, at the same time, ultimately familiar. Weaving its way intricately into the multi-textured fabric of sounds is the undeniable presence of Edgar’s electro-funk soul whilst Machinedrum’s idiosyncratic syncopated rhythms and stuttered drum clacks jack and roughen the edges.

In a recent interview with FACT magazine (http://www.factmag.com/2012/08/19/jimmy-edgar-and-machinedrum-lift-the-lid-on-their-new-collaborative-project-jets/), the pair admitted that on this EP, “there’s a sense of where we’ve been, what we’ve come to, and everything in between.” Be part of the journey.

Next up on TUFF TRAX - @jaw-jam gives away another classic-cut-in-the-making to celebrate his epic laser-etched vinyl release earlier in May. The EP marked a milestone for TUFF WAX as we moved into 12" territory for the first time and saw our music being stocked by some of the biggest specialist stores in underground music. This one's on the house though - enjoy!
