Astronauts 'In My Direction' - single released 19/1/15. 

One of the highlights from the debut Astronauts album ‘Hollow Ponds’, ‘In My Direction’ is a gorgeous, cascading slice of dark, folky pop, with Dan’s breathy vocal harmonies - and call-and-responses with his friend and collaborator Michael Cranny – floating reassuringly over an intertwining acoustic guitar flow and taut percussive backbone. As with all the best Astronauts material, it’s hooky, emotionally involving, and mildly unsettling, all at once. 

The brilliant video for the song was conceived and made by Armenia-based production company Manana Films, after they approached Dan about collaboration earlier this year. The result is an idiosyncratic, unforgettable video starring Armenian actor Andranik Lavchyan rhythmically wending his way around the capital Yerevan, confusing everyone he encounters. 

‘In My Direction’ is backed with a remix of the ‘Hollow Ponds’ track ‘Everything’s A System, Everything’s A Sign’ from Kieran Mahon, a minimal/ambient composer and long-time friend of Dan’s, who creeps up silently behind the original and injects it with a swirling, insistent menace.

Together, Johaz and Exile have created some great tunes under the Dag Savage moniker, and though this new tune doesn't fall under the same name, it has produced something equally as consistent and smooth.

"Anything" is the first single from Johaz's upcoming Volition mixtape, which will be released via Exile's Dirty Science label. The song follows four rappers (G Rocka, Theory Hazit and Blu appear alongside Johaz) trying to court their individual ladies while making sure the women know if they need anything in the world, he's got them covered. Outside of Johaz, Blu has to be the most enticing person to spit on Exile's fluttering, soothing production. Blu and Exile have made some of the best tunes rap has seen over the last 10 years, and Blu delivers one of his most energetic verses in a while on "Anything."

Johaz's Volition is set to drop at the beginning of 2016, but right now, this new tune is "Anything" we've ever wanted. Listen below.

After the success of her first self-released EP “The Suspended Kid”, Sevdaliza releases her second batch of enigmatic songs on “Children of Silk”. The songstress/producer draws her influences from several textures like skin and glass. Sevdaliza’s melancholic visceral voice floats over beds of mechanical instrumentation, creating dynamics of chaos and order. Her songs have a philosophical questioning character, subjects like gender diversification and perception of emotion are strongly present. Diverse comparisons have been drawn yet it remains a difficulty to specify her in a particular genre. Rhythmic tensions build slowly into chaotic climaxes. Every retribution of her lyrics becomes more intense and personal, yet she isn’t able to break from that obscure statue of a woman. Children of Silk is now available worldwide via Itunes/Spotify.
