Dune

Inspired by the Spice planet of Arrakis from the novel Dune. For those of you that are familiar with the book and or movie will embrace the planet, taste the spice and feel the worm thumpers while you listen. For those of you who are not, you will be curious to grab the book or movie and experience it for yourself. As always, love yourself and enjoy.

Did this to see if LANDR worked. Seems to do a pretty nice job for a simple Drag & Drop, then wait process. Kind of impressed. Look for the original posting (same title, but w/o "(MasteredByLANDR)" in title) on my profile to do a comparison. Comments and constructive critiques are always welcome. :)

The line-up! The music! The setlist (though not the best one they did)! The voca... erm... yeah... okay, it's one thing Gillan could not remember a lyric line or two. But another thing is, probably, drinking before the gig. We know Gillan used to be a bitter drinker, so I suspect that wore him out at the concert, because otherwise he's an absolutely fantastic singer, my most favorite one (for instance, try singing "Take me to the hot line yeah" on a very high pitch 8 times in a row, or Child In Time loud vocal parts just once). But even I myself know drinking alcohol before the gig, even just one can, is a bad idea. It wears you out quickly, you can't remember some things... it's bad. And to try hiding it behind screams is even worse.

Sandstorm (Bless the Maker)

This is Dune-inspired fan art.  

Elecrans of Caladan is an imaginary voyage on a ship as you make your way over the deep sea's surface toward Castle Caladan -ancestral home of the Atreides. Just about an hour or so away, you encounter what appears to be an electrical storm. Unfortunately, you know all too well the mythical stories from the elder deep sea fishermen about spirit-like Elecrans and their violent, territorial electrical impulses.  

As you slow to take time and assess the situation, you notice that it seems to be veering off in the other direction. You take a moment to look for more and check your heading. Suddenly, you realize you're surrounded by dozens of them! You immediately spring into action and start to swerve your way around the leviathans, all the while trying to stay on general course towards the castle.  

There are so many of them! Will you make it?!

TIMELINE: 

06092019 - Started as a simple bass line, then added a simple drum beat.  

06212019 - Start messing around with the bass and drums; started adding all the Harmless tracks, then the Cytrus, then channel effects. Found the thunder roll at soundbible.com. Just over a minute in length now. Using this for the bass drops.

08042019 - Remembered the Elecrans of Caladan, and thus, the new title (was Thunder-Drop Groove-Frenzy -this might be the SoundCloud hashtag; that or Dune)  

Since 08042019 - Tweaking, editing, mastering, etc...
