Introducing The Armory, a new weekly podcast from San Francisco DJ, Zach Moore (The RIPEcast, Gough Street Sessions). Featuring an arsenal of world class DJs from San Francisco and beyond, The Armory Podcast reloads each and every Friday with exclusive mixes from the biggest names in breakbeat and house. In our very first episode 2012 Breakspoll winner, Mafia Kiss (aka Paul Baron), wastes no time kicking down the door and setting The Armory ablaze, but there is a method to his madness. "I was sent the artwork for the Armory Podcast and was told by Zach to think '80's arcade machine', says Mr. Baron. "So that stuck in my head and I wanted the mix to play along with that, hence the deeper, darker mix. I've tried to make it feel like you're completing level after level in a video game with the track selection. Make sure you're looking at the artwork at the end of the mix, too. Trust me. It will make sense!"

The Armory will also showcase the talents of renowned illustrator, Jem Panufnik. “My artwork for The Armory takes its cue from those classic back-lit, sci-fi, shoot-em-up, ‘80s-stlye video arcade game signs, which I love", says Panufnik. "When he commissioned me, Zach explained how The Armory was about the old analogy of DJ battle weapons, dancefloor bombs etc, and it seemed a great way to show that when the DJ pulls his trigger/fader finger it’s an arsenal of sirens, squeaks, bleeps and ear-splitting analogue booms that does the damage. Really looking forward to the series!”

The 19th release from Cognitive Music comes from label newcomer DJ Versa-Style, who brings his signature 808 sound to the label with Get A Life.  Old school percussion and a spoken rant start things off while the snares and a siren are added to the mix, filling things up to the first drop, introducing a thunderous Miami bass line with a bouncing synth and faint vocal dancing on top.  As the track continues, chopped up vocal samples and gritty synths weave in and out of one another, building to the big break, which brings the full spoken vocal together with a sick, sliding melody.   Beats and a chopped vocal are then brought back, elevating the track and energy to its highest point.  An infectious, bass driven track that is not to be missed.

Jaime Merlo a.k.a JimiTheGenius is a South Florida producer, remixer and dj that has leaped into the Worldwide Bass Music spotlight for countless years now. With his dope productions covering everything from modern day Miami Bass, Electro, Booty and Techno. His Miami Electro Bass sound, is a unique style of low end mixed with his dirty Kuad dropping futuristic sounds. For years now, his one of a kind JTG remixes have been known to help dj's get the party started off right. He has played throughout the East and West coast, while holding down the South at all the various massive shows 
throughout the country.

In 2003, Jimi joined forces with his good friend Richard Zarate a.k.a. Ashrock, to form Hydraulix aka Hydroz. Their first commercial release as 
Hydraulix, which was released on their self owned imprint (co-owned with Dj Merlyn), @kuadrecordings The buzz which “The Hydraulix E.P.” generated, was unimaginable and props began to role in for the duo. They've been a staple in the Miami Bass Electro scene and their Bass bumpin beats with their dirty low end, have been damaging dance floors worldwide for decades now. 

In 2009, Jimi joined forces once again with Supernaut, to form $uper Geniu$. They both have been dropping straight Miami Bass x Breaks heat for years now, up and down the East coast and at festivals like EDC Orlando, FSOB, and Culture's Candyland festival to name a few. 

JimiTheGenius and his low end sound, has quickly become a worldwide favorite in Bass music. And one can only ensure that his sound will continue to push the low end boundaries through out the world of music.
