The German newcomer serves up a superb debut three-tracker on Loco Dice’s imprint on 28th February 2025. Since 2007, Desolat has been at the forefront of rhythm-heavy house music, championing fresh talent and top-tier producers alike under Loco Dice’s leadership. Stepping into the fold for his debut, Düsseldorf native Simes follows in
the footsteps of names such as Guti, Yaya, and Francisco Allendes, bringing a three-track offering of quick-fire drum grooves with ‘Bussin’. Already road-tested by Loco Dice around the globe, from Club Space in Miami to ADE, the title track is proving to be an early standout. On the title track ‘Bussin’, Simes locks in a rolling groove, fusing rapid-re beats, sizzling hi-hats, and a driving vocal cut that keeps the energy high. ‘TMF’ follows with deep, swinging grooves, layering a thumping low-end with crisp, filtered samples, before ‘En Chinga’ closes the EP with a chunky bassline, skittering percussion, and a raw,
club-ready sound.

Azid Loff EP by Rafa Alemán, released on Crazy Nutz Music, is a testament to the evolution and maturity of the Venezuelan-born producer now based in Barcelona. From his early days in electronic music, influenced by his father and playing at private parties in Venezuela, to establishing himself in the Spanish scene, Rafa has crafted a distinctive sound within tech house and minimal/deep tech, infused with acid house elements and a meticulous approach to production. His performances at renowned venues such as Pacha Barcelona, Fabrik Madrid, and City Hall Barcelona, alongside sharing line-ups with the likes of Max Chapman, Stacey Pullen, and Stefano Noferini, have played a crucial role in shaping his artistic identity. This EP stands out as one of his most conceptual works to date, driven by his fascination with acid synths, carefully automated to create a continuous sense of movement within each track. The concept behind Azid Loff EP is to take classic acid house elements and merge them with his signature style, delivering a fresh and modern twist to the genre. To achieve this, he utilised Ableton Live as his main DAW and the Hive 2 synthesiser, leveraging its flexibility to generate dynamic modulations that maintain energy on the dancefloor. While the vocals in this release remain subtle, they play a key role in shaping the EP’s atmosphere, allowing the synths to take centre stage. However, in the final track, the inclusion of an iconic vocal adds an unexpected narrative element, showcasing Rafa’s versatility and his ability to tell stories through sound.
The EP opens with Azid Loff, a track built around a percussive groove and a solid rhythmic foundation, where the acid synth takes control through subtle yet highly effective variations. One of the most intriguing aspects of this track is its unexpected swing shift in the first drop—an element that few may consciously notice but will undoubtedly feel in the track’s fluid motion. A simple vocal adds attitude without overshadowing the instrumental work. Next, Who Am I shifts the EP into a more minimalistic direction, focusing on intricate percussion and a play of glitches that add texture to the rhythmic base. Here, the vocals and voxes take on a more prominent role, crafting a hypnotic atmosphere, while a short single-note synth reinforces the track’s repetitive and immersive character. Finally, Morgan brings back the energy and groove of Azid Loff, but with a more cinematic approach, thanks to the presence of Morgan Freeman’s vocal, which becomes the focal point of the track. The combination of a modulated acid synth, a crowd applause atmosphere during the breaks, and Freeman’s narration gives the track a unique identity, making it one of the most memorable moments of the EP. With Azid Loff EP, Rafa Alemán reaffirms his ability to innovate within tech house, delivering a release that is not only effective on the dancefloor but also demonstrates a strong conceptual foundation and impeccable production execution.

"The 51st release on Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital features Lithuanian DJ and producer Kastis Torrau.  Since winning Sasha and Burn Studio's 'Cut Me Down' remix competition, Kastis continuously finds his boundless discography crushing the Beatport charts across multiple genres on imprints such as Last Night On Earth, Hope Recordings, Click Records, and Plattenbank.

For his sixth appearance on the label, the veteran producer provides two brilliant originals titled 'Antivirus' and 'Neo'. Hijacking the listener with a thumping kick and pulsing pads, 'Antivirus' delivers an intense and haunting voyage with aggressively snarling brass and reverberating stabs.  The warm and smooth tempered 'Neo' is signified by deep, chugging percussion and ethereal motifs.  A subdued yet bouncy melody brightens and swells into thick chords to create a cinematic sci-fi ambience.
