Just me, or is the stuttering "wow" bass thing a fad that got old within a week of getting started?

My first track with the new toy: Native Instruments' Maschine

Drums created by stacking samples from the excellent factory library, and compressing them all together...

Cue the Virus TI Atomizer!  Had to Re-Sample the whole mix, feed it through the Virus, MIDI up the Atomizer sequence, and add my synth chops on top...not fast n' easy, but definitely bad-ass!  I LOVE MY VIRUS!!!!

I made this piece with my Moog Slim Phatty plugged into my new Eventide H9 Harmonizer...and(except for drums)that's it!!!  Drums were created with my MPC 2000, using my own personal samples, processed with hardware on the way in.  
I wanted the "limitations" of making a song with just a monosynth and a (fantastic!) pedal only....there is some 2-Buss compression using the Pendulum OCL-2, and a little limiting using the old hardware L2.

THIS IS STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS...vocals, final mix, and mastering still need to be completed, so all you hear here is the instrumental bed tracks.

Created with 4 Samplers, 4 Analog synths, and all squeezed into my EPS 16+ 2MB of RAM (except for my upright piano at the end, that was the EMU e5000 Ultra) for recording onto cassette tape.  Recorded back in to Reason 10 at 24/44.1kHz

Created in Hardware with both vintage and modern analogs, some digital VA synths, and a lot of samplers!  Instruments used are:

Inspired by the classic first chase scene in Blade Runner....crowded streets in Oriental LA, Deckard frantically searching for the Replicant, finding her and shooting her as she crashes through a bunch of plate glass windows and falls dead on the street.

Nothing at all like the beautiful Vangelis score, this is a re-imagining of the specific chase scene....and only very loosely based on it at that.

This is a pre-release version, locked to picture, but perhaps not in it's final state.  I did some additional processing on the Master buss that will probably not be on the soundtrack.

Played back into a Tascam 3-Head tape deck using one of those old adapters for playing CDs in your cassette equipped car....I used Dolby A to compress and then expand the track, passed into an Altec transformer box that I made myself and then into a Pendulum PL-2 analog limiter just to catch peaks...  Recorded back into Reason 10 as a stereo mix.

A short EP, mixed here as one continuous song that I wrote in the midst of a deep depression for catharsis and to express what I was feeling.  Thoughts While Drowning was created using a wide range of analog and digital equipment (Analog mono and polysynths, digital samplers and drum machines, analog processing and a digital console and reverbs, delays, and modulation effects)

I mastered directly to cassette tape that was slightly driven using the noise-reduction circuit as an effect.
