This is the second release by Skipper Productions for V.R. Smith and once again she is backed by a superb Los Angeles band led by her husband and bassist supreme, Putter Smith. She is a real jazz singer who doesn't go the safe route, but picks obscure standards that challenge her. Her deep raspy voice separates her from everyone else and definitely earns her a spot in the top singers of our time. All the wonderful arrangements by Putter Smith. Tracks include: Ruby, Beautiful Love, the Island, Detour Ahead, Easy Living.
