For the opening set of the night we had label manager Ant TC1 warming up early doors ahead of Doc Scott and Goldie, here's the first of the 3 recordings that we are uploading from this memorable mid-summer event.  It was a special night in June of this year with a sold out crowd of 800+ people crammed into Xoyo's upstairs room (from pretty much before the very first needle was placed on the record until going past the nights extended close).  Again a big thanks to Benji B for inviting us down to take over the room.

The summer is back in Amsterdam and so is our Dream Away Podcast serie! This time done by the great Dutch producer/DJ Jaap Ligthart. 

His productions (original tracks, remixes, bootlegs) played lots of times by the world's big time dj's. Artists like Richie Hawtin, Sasha, John Digweed, Tiësto, Hernan Cattaneo, Dave Seaman and Jody Wisternoff (Way Out West) are playing Jaaps productions over and over again.

Dream Away Podcast #8 by Jaap Ligthart

From the annals of the Particles back catalogue, "Moment of Peace" from Russian artist, Mobilize, was a three-track EP of the highest order and formed part of stunning repertoire of original tracks that ran across both Particles and the avant garde, Apollo, imprint. Revisiting the iconic track, Yin : Yang now commissions remixes from Hungary's finest.

Also working under the pseudonym, Robert R. Hardy, Robert Reisz has been at the cutting edge of the underground dance scene. Involved in dance music from an early age, a knowledge of production techniques and workstation software enabled him to hone his skills, launching the D.M.P production alter-ego in 2012. A debut for Stellar Fountain opened the doorway to a successful career as BQ Recordings, DeepWit and Electronic Tree were some of the vehicles used to transport Reisz's music to a growing fan base. 

Supported by such leading lights as Hernan Cattaneo, Max Graham and Ruben de Ronde, the D.M.P remix for Mobilize immediately makes intelligent use of some of the percussive elements of "Moment of Peace" and develops them into a delicate new shuffling cadence. Following a deep house path, new chord progressions and a deep rich bass groove play their part with a reverb drenched vocal cut adding deeper flavour. Developing a retro vibe, comparisons with Future Sound of London are not remiss as D.M.P exhibits a distinct and innovative interpretation of Mobilize's work.

Der frühe Tänzer fängt den Beat, in diesem Sinne läuten wir zusammen mit Boss Axis schon mal die Phase der Vorfreude ein. Denn wer sich jetzt schon freut und grinst wie Kater Garfield, wenn es Lasagne gibt, hat länger was von der schönsten Jahreszeit.

Also frisch ans Werk und am besten schon mal Tickets bestellen, damit man später nicht mit langen Gesicht in die Röhre schaut. Es gibt viel zu entdecken abseits der ausgetretenen Pfade. Dieses Jahr gilt das Motto "klein aber fein". Seid wie die großen Entdecker im 15. Jahrhundert und sucht neue Wege in die Glückseligkeit der Surrealität. Erhellt die dunklen Flecken eurer Festivallandkarte und erweitert euren Horizont. Mit Boss Axis als Navigator am Board kann nichts schief gehen ;)

Mit deepen beats und feinen Vocals, die lieblicher als der Klang der Sirenen sind, steuern sie euch geschickt durch die Untiefen der Vorbestellungsquerelen und Zeltflickaktionen bis ihr am Ziel angekommen seid, euren Campingstuhl aufgeklappt und das erste Dosenbier geöffnet habt.
