The Disco Rogues are back on Paper with a follow up release to their excellent Funk Moves and this sophomore E.P. If late night jacking and chugging dance floor action is your thing, step this way.

'Deep Point' is a murky and mucky slice of after-hours house music that has a locked down, heavy groove that is perfect for setting the scene or slowing things down when it's getting twisted.

'IF' is a cinematic hazy highlight that is hypnotic, psychedelic and aimed at the cosmos. Swirling synths and pads wrap around a hook synth stab to create something between 90s Balearica and a lost John Hughes soundtrack.

'Let It All Go' keeps it deep and and trippy with layered synths, guitars, pads and more to create a journey into the outer reaches of above and beyond. What a trip!

'You've Got The' closes off the package and sits perfectly into that 'classic Paper' deep house sound (yeah, we did it before it was all man bags and beards!). There are stubby chords, chopped up guitars, rolling bass and snappy percussion with just a hint of disco peppered over the top to keep things sweet.  This beauty will test the bass bins early doors and fill the floor while it's at it.

Inspired by Star Wars and science fiction, I threw this mix together on May the 4th for a friend who really loves the original Lucas films and collects the toys. Let me know what you think - a few of the mixes are a bit rough, but I'm pretty happy with how this concept turned out. Enjoy!

Jimpster: The UK House craftsman shaping soundscapes with soul and subtlety

If you’ve ever lost yourself in the smooth, rolling rhythms of deep house, you’ve probably had Jimpster to thank without even knowing it.  Behind the decks, in the studio, or even just in the groove of his own life, Jimpster—aka Jamie Odell—is one of the quiet yet crucial architects of the genre, a producer who’s somehow managed to keep his sound fresh while paying homage to house music’s roots.  With releases stretching back to the early 90's, Jimpster’s sonic journey has evolved from the cut n paste, sample-heavy bedroom productions of his early releases to the deep house anthems he’s known for today.  He’s the artist who’s mastered the art of organic warmth, blending digital precision with analog textures in ways that sound both timeless and ahead of their time.  His music often draws from a deep well of influences: jazz, funk, soul, electro and even ambient textures—but it’s always tethered to the dancefloor.  He’s the kind of producer who can make a sub-bass rumble feel like a heartbeat while surrounding it with lush, atmospheric synths and intricate percussion that push his tracks into a hypnotic, almost meditative space.

Jimpster's discography is packed with both original tracks and remixes that make you move without even realising it: there’s the spaced-out, trippy disco allure of “English Rose”, the groove-heavy slo-mo swagger of “The Sun Comes Up” (which is basically the soundtrack to *that* sunset), and let’s not forget the timeless “Dangly Panther.”  Each track feels like a wave—a smooth ride that pulls you along effortlessly but leaves you wanting more.  His remix of Osunlade’s Momma’s Groove has become iconic but he has also offered his golden touch to artists as diverse as Seal, Bob Marley, Kerri Chandler, Josh Wink and Adam Port to name just a few.

As a DJ, his sets are like a carefully curated journey, blending stripped back disco, underground house and the more soulful end of techno into smooth, liquid transitions that captivate without ever feeling rushed. As co-founder and A&R of Freerange, Delusions Of Grandeur and most recently Cyphon Recordings, he’s helped nurture an entire generation of producers, sharing his deep understanding of groove and sound design with those who came after him.  Despite his three decades in the business and pivotal role in shaping the electronic music landscape, Jimpster remains relentlessly focused on who, or what, will come next, as excited as ever by discovering the freshest new talent and sounds to expose to the world.
