Respire: to recover hope, courage, or strength after a time of difficulty
Originally this set was my submission for Coalesce New Years 2022.  After rerecording it and sitting on it for a couple months it dawned on me how pivotal that moment was as a representation of where I was mentally and emotionally.  It was the end of an epic failure of a manic episode.  In my mania I devoured myself in delusion and anger, eating away at what little sanity I was holding onto.  Continuously pushing everything and everyone around me till I broke, having neglected my health, my car, my relationship, my friendships, it all came crashing down.  Having found a new low I was scattered mentally, confused emotionally and I felt as if I had lost my soul.  Yet I was encouraged by my best friend to put something together for a submission and the music helped me breathe with ease again as I embarked on a new chapter of my life.  Since that day I still made mistakes, I still broke boundaries, damaged material things, all due to the lingering impulse and need for haste.  But they became easier to accept the faults of my character, easier to acknowledge and easier to manage.  As the months of Fall came it became apparent I needed a new approach to this dance of life.  A fearless honest inventory of myself was taken and when I tried to hide whatever darkness within me I was afraid of it was called out and brought to the forefront, discussed in new light until I was no longer afraid.  The real challenge was embracing all those parts I had hidden away, misrepresented pain was now accepted.  This collection of music was compiled during the lowest of my lows, it consisted of all the emotions I was seeking, acceptance for all the gritty parts of myself.  I may not have found it immediately, but after listening to it over and over again it helped me persevere and push forwards.  I hope that you find as much solace and reprieve in this compilation as I have.

two weekends ago, the stars aligned and I was graced with the opportunity to showcase my music at one of the most legendary underground music events on the west coast… Moontribe. It is my favorite party of the year and this year was my turn to show off some of my musical style. I combined some originals with a bunch of my favorite heavy hitters for this 10pm - 11:30pm set on that beautiful Sunday night. All of us are struggling right now… With our jobs, health, relationships, cabin fever, financial issues, etc. Recently I've been pretty down and while I’m am completely healthy, my mind is beginning to struggle.. I've really needed something to motivate and distract me from all the bs. A couple weeks ago, I decided to take over @inquiry-records Twitch account on a rainy Sunday afternoon to play music that soothes the soul, medicates the mind and maybe give a slight escape to those who need it right now…
