Digifest community hub 2025: how do communities help us adapt?

Rosie Hare, Community intelligence and impact lead at Jisc, is joined by two members of the steering group from Jisc's FE Library LRC Community. Jacinta Jolly is Deputy Head of Library Services at NPTC Group of Colleges in Wales and also the Chair of the FE Library LRC Community and Louise Ord is Learning Resource Centre Manager at Exeter College in Devon, and one of the newer members of the community's steering group. 

Rosie, Jacinta and Louise talk about all things FE Library related and how their community supports library workers across the FE sector. This community is one of our most vibrant and longest-standing communities and is a kind and supportive space for FE library staff, who have gone through a lot of change in their sector over the last decade. This episode is a great conversation about the importance of these supportive spaces and how co-creating these community spaces with our members can make our communities a highlight of people's professional lives and a source of useful, cost-effective CPD.

Digifest community hub 2025: The FE Library LRC Community with Jacinta Jolly and Louise Ord

Laura Hutton, Subject Specialist in Accessibility at Jisc, is joined by Vicki Penny from Hartpury University and Colin Smith from Cornwall College.

Vicki and Colin are part of a co-creation project at Jisc, led by Laura, called the FE Accessibility Training Matrix. The aim of the project is to create a shared resource for FE that curates training and resources relating to Accessibility and maps it to job roles and levels of knowledge required for all FE staff. Bryony shares her experience running the informal AI network for UK FE and how this community grew from a space for Welsh providers to become a bigger space for FE educators all across the UK to come together and share practice on AI in Further Education and Skills. Bryony's work on this network is what led to her winning a 2025 Community Champion award and her passion and enthusiasm for connecting others and fostering a supportive environment has been invaluable to those working in FE.
