Don't Wanna Wake Up

My remix for HXRY's Contest! I am super late to the game but this project was a really fun time and I loved every second of it!

I tried something new with this, all the drop synths of the first drop are made from just manipulating vocals from his vocal stem. A lot of delay tricks, eqs and distortion plug-ins were used to make the final product, and then all the second drop was synth design :)

Ace Aura - Kaleidoscope

One of my favorite tracks I've ever made so far, and it started because I was feeling very angry at the state of some of my other songs in the works. I would get all the way through with them, and at the very end decide that I didn't like them any more. This happened a few times, and I eventually said I wanted to make something that sounded rough and mean to get it out.

The lyrics are "Freedom is problematic, you are systematic" and I meant it in a specific way. The message is that having total freedom in what you make at such an early stage in your music/ career can be problematic, because it can be overwhelming. I find I work better when I have a system in place that guides me through the mental blocks producers are all too familiar with.

My take on the infamous "low key" sample, this was incredibly fun to make and I learned a lot while doing it!

Much like my HXRY remix, the first drop is all manipulated vocals, and the second drop is all sound design. I really like the vibe this creates, and hope to do more with vocal manipulation in the future!
