Primarily performed as an acoustic guitarist/mandolinist.  
Occasionally played keyboards, bass, electric guitar and percussion in bands. 
Worked with artists including David Olney, Mike Couch, Dan Ottemiller, Jack Quigley, Mike SanSoucie, Janis Wallin, Sam Panther, Sonny Hennig, John King, Steve Varner, Jeff Stabley, Mo Moyar, John Winch, Barry Denyer and many more. 
Bands including Hexbelt, The Knormals, Adam's House Cat, Moonbillies, Straight No Chaser (featuring the Little BigHorns), Dave-man Band, Thirsty Night Band, Cahoots and many more.

Lonesome Day Records is a small independent record label based in Booneville, Kentucky, where the label holds its main office and studio and is run by owner Randall Deaton. With future plans to open an office in Lexington, KY the label - which takes its name from a Bruce Springsteen song - has released some of the most noteworthy records in bluegrass and roots music from an impressive roster of talent, which has included over the years Fred Eaglesmith, Ralph Stanley II, and Larry Cordle. Today, Deaton has a new slate of talent carrying the bluegrass torch, including Girls, Guns and Glory, Richard Bennett, Tim Shelton, Jeff Clair, and Jeff Parker. As for Deaton’s musical mission, it's simple: Make great music with integrity and quality. “The power of music is astonishing. The subject matter of songs has not really changed over hundreds of years yet there is 'new' music created everyday and people still want it. I think we have done some records that will still be played years down the road. The music industry may change but it isn’t going anywhere. People will always want good music but they just may buy it in a different way," he explains.

The Tailors' Book Club is a driving Indie Folk quartet featuring a mix of poetic vocals, guitar, banjo, cello, 3 part harmonies with a literary twist, 
The poet turned songwriter, Stephen 'Moon'ey weaves honest and moving lyrics into folk narratives, dark worlds, and ash filled skies and leave us with driving multilayered choruses.

Der sich zum Songwriter gewandelte Dichter Neno John Moon schreibt ehrliche und bewegende Texte - sie führen uns durch folkige Erzählungen, dunkle Welten, von Asche erfüllte Himmel, hin zu hoffnungsvollen, kraftvollen und vielschichtigen Refrains.
