Didn't know this last speech was even recorded. Horrifying how loving and supportive his message seems to be on the surface. Amazing how willing people are to follow madness.

That speech was a hard listen (especially during the parts where the woman is trying to debate him out of his chosen direction). The twisted mood of the music fits that perfectly. Rough ride (as one would expect), but well done.

Herbie Hancock is one of my greatest musical inspirations, a giant of the 20th Century and still going strong.  This original composition Raindrops, is a look back at his playing in the mid '60s, when he was in his early 20s and playing and recording with the second legendary Miles Davis Quintet.  The ensemble was exploring modal jazz, pushing the boundaries of jazz harmony, taking things in and out of scales using chromatic dissonance, and setting the bar as high as it has ever been.  In this band, Herbie often used extended single note soloing, similar to Miles' trumpet or Wayne Shorter's tenor saxophone, creating a mood and image similar to Impressionism in art.
