From Brooklyn, New York by way of Staten Island, Jahiliyya Fields debuted on L.I.E.S. in 2012 with a heralded, yet still under the radar double lp "Unicursal Hexagram". 2013 saw him once again return to L.I.E.S. with his four track "Pleasure Sentence" ep this time with the addition of a drum machine and abstract 4/4 leanings. 

Through the year he's been perfecting his live set up moving into modular territory with the help of the guys over at Control (http://www.ctrl-mod.com/) as this set displays his transformation into that world. 

Recorded live on October 20th on the Scones radio show WFMU Jersey City, New Jersey here we have 40 minutes of untamed electronics from one of the more interesting characters emerging from the grime of New York City in the last couple of years.

Luke Wyatt stays busy.

The artist has released a ton of music and video art in the past several years, under both his own name and a variety of aliases, for the likes of L.I.E.S., Not Not Fun, 1080p and Mexican Summer. None of his projects are more aesthetically and thematically consistent than Torn Hawk though, an alias he has utilized to share sprawling, richly-texture music that tackles machismo, vulnerability and emotional exposure.

Last year's wonderfully-titled Let’s Cry And Do Pushups At The Same Time - which he built from live guitar, drum machines, synths and samples, with nods to Manuel Göttsching, Tom Verlaine and Don Henley - demonstrates the same blurring of time, place and source of his "video mulch" pieces, as does his FACT mix. "These are all original sounds I created," he writes. "A small portion of the tracks compiled have been half-heard elsewhere. All material is now put to work supporting the larger story presented here."
