In 2022 HISTORY AT OUR DISPOSAL, often shortened graphically to “HAOD” has unearthed the first collection of songs since the bands hibernation in 2009. Jason Reimer, the driving force behind the project had since moved on to producing and playing in bands like BAPTIST GENERALS (Sub Pop Records) and the recent DEF RAIN “EXIT” while maintaining a multi-hyphenate creative life, re-opening the Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff and pursuing film scores and award winning podcasts. In recent months the decision was made to collect the numerous rock band songs that he’d been working on and finish them with the help of a few friends. The result is “LOUNGE MUSIC” the forthcoming full length record arriving in late AUG 2022, mixed by grammy award winning STUART SIKES (Cat Power, White Stripes) and mastered by MATT BARNHART of CHICAGO MASTERING SERVICE. In many ways, this record picks up where the multi-dimensional band left off, not beholden to any one genre of music, but keeping its roots closely guarded by dirty lo-fi synths and loads of guitars. The first single “THE CREDITS” is a no wave influenced track with basement-psych melodrama, beginning a new chapter by reading the last line of the book you just put down.
