What I really love about this release is that it feels like the artist unlocked his full visionary potential. This song doesn’t necessarily remain anchored to any given particular style or flow but rather explores a huge range of musical characteristics. There is melody, energy, moodiness, deep bass tones, catchy lyrics, and huge effects. In other words, the works! This song has got everything you would expect from a great modern rap song, and so much more. JBando never ceases to impress me with each and every new project he brings to the table, and this astonishing new song is no exception at all. It is not surprising that fans are already receiving the song so positively, as shown by the many enthusiastic comments that you can read on JBando’s official page on Soundcloud.
“Wide Awake” is highly recommended to anyone with a love for great textures and cool soundscapes, because one of the most memorable aspects of the beat is the fact that the song textures are so deep. Instead of just having a “one-dimensional” feel, this release feels like 3D. By that, I mean that the space is not flat, but so lively and diverse, making for a really intriguing and one-of-a-kind flow.
The beats have got a really trippy vibe, making for a more in-depth listening experience. Every bar has got so much depth, and the drums have a perfect swing, that locks in with the lyrics and creates a very natural sound, making the song all the more special. This is definitely a release that sets the bar higher for JBando, and it is yet another example of his songwriting skills.
