Long Island Sound has quietly evolved into one of underground electronic music’s most consistent and emotionally resonant duos. Built on over a decade of friendship and creative collaboration, their widescreen take on dance music has been supported by the likes of BBC Radio 1, Resident Advisor & Bicep. 

Following the release of their acclaimed 2024 album HYDRA and a standout run of live shows across Europe - including headline sets across London, Prague, Dublin - Rob Roche and Tim Nolan are using their label, Signs of Space, to present a more direct vision of their sound. Striking a balance between the melodic and the muscular, the emotive and the explosive, it is club music with a narrative edge - built for headphones, main stages, and everything in between.

But Long Island Sound has always been more than just a musical outlet. It's a shared language, a constant thread through years of change - moving cities, navigating life, and growing together. The back catalogue feels like a diary of their friendship, each release capturing a moment in time. From the artwork to the events, to the music itself, every part of the project has been shaped by their hands. Makebo is a DJ and producer based in Barcelona (Spain), with a deep understanding of the structure and philosophy of the intellectual electronic scene. With a subtle grasp of Organic and Progressive House sounds, he creates a hypnotic, groove-rich sound that immerses the listener in a state of pure perception of the moment and reveals the inner world of the artist.

Makebo began his musical career back in the late 1990s, going through several successful projects. In 2018, he finally established his artistic identity under the pseudonym Makebo, focusing on creating deep, atmospheric, and emotionally rich electronic music.

In 2021, together with Amonita, he founded the music label Rubicunda, which became a platform not only for releases but also for organizing showcases that bring together artists from around the world around melodic sounds.

As a producer, Makebo is released on leading global labels including All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, Lost Miracle, and Shanti Radio, and regularly performs at their parties and stages worldwide. His tracks have repeatedly topped the Beatport charts, and at the end of 2023, he took first place in the top chart of Organic House artists and producers according to Beatport / Beatstats.

His music receives strong support from influential artists including: Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Lee Burridge, Damian Lazarus, Sébastien Léger, Roy Rosenfeld, Tim Green, Khen, among others, and is regularly featured in their sets.

The artist's touring activity covers the USA, Brazil, and Europe, and also includes regular seasonal performances in Ibiza, where his signature sound organically fits into the island's atmosphere. His sets are constructed like musical stories, characterized by thoughtful architecture and a dense groove.

In addition to his DJ and producer career, Makebo is the founder of his own music academy “Experience” for electronic music production, the author of unique educational programs, courses, and a series of professional sample packs for producers used by artists around the world. His work in education and scene development highlights the artist’s versatility and his contribution to the future of electronic music.

Makebo's music has no genre or emotional boundaries, in it, every listener finds something of their own, remaining in dialogue with depth, rhythm, and the moment.
