Lachlan is one of the most well-known and versatile contemporary pianists in Tasmania who has had many years experience as a performer, accompanist, arranger, teacher and musical director.  Jazz, popular, traditional, folk, rock, ballad, blues, funk and latin are just some of the genres he touches upon within his wide range of repertoire.  Lachlan’s rich piano arrangements and the ability to totally immerse himself in the music, has captivated audiences throughout Australia and the UK.  His diverse experience has seen him perform at many different high class events including, weddings, functions, theatre productions, festivals and piano bars.

Specifically, Lachlan has performed at Falls Festival, Hot August Jazz, Soundscape, One Movement, Taste of Tasmania; as well as featuring on award winning recordings.  

Lachlan is a sought after accompanist, featuring as a support musician in many eisteddfods and Conservatorium recitals.  His skill set allows him to easily adapt repertoire to meet the needs of the supported musician.

Lachlan has also been involved with a wide variety of musical productions as an orchestra player, répétiteur and musical director:  All Shook up, Back to the 80s, Beach Blanket Tempest, Butterfly Ball, Chicago, Copacabana, Fame, Grease, Godspell, High School Musical, Jesus Christ Superstar, Keating, Miss Saigon, Pippin, Phantom of the Opera, Rent, Spamalot, Sorry the Bridge is Out, West Side Story and various Uni Revues.

With his flexible and easy going personality he will work with you to create the perfect event by listening to your needs, paying close attention to detail and being respectful of arrangements.  Lachlan is self sufficient with his state of the art stage piano and PA system and can set up in almost any location.  He can learn song requests, allow usage of his PA and microphone for speeches or guest performances and provide recorded background music and light DJ services.  Also with his many music contacts he can easily put together a duo, trio, or band with any instrumentation as requested for later in the evening.
