

LA TETONA (• Y •) primer single de mmmrico ,  canción que hace alusión a un encuentro sexual lésbico abordado desde la perspectiva de una persona no binaria. Narrado desde un dialecto propio de la costa norte colombiana con ligero sazón de spanglish , tetona es oda a la promiscuidad con elementos jocosos  que no simplifican el lenguaje y la naturaleza de los encuentros casuales, dando importancia al contexto y a la naturaleza de sus personajes.

Sónicamente tetona es una amalgama de hard champeta con elementos electrónicos sumados a un final en “wuarapo”, géneros que deconstruyen raíces de ritmos africanos reinterpretados en Barranquilla, Colombia

In May, our next Broadcast Lab commission saw Abbas Jazza & Nyege Nyege Festival realise ‘Singeli Vibes’: a high-energy showcase of local Singeli artists in Dar es Salaam, the genre’s birthplace.

For the uninitiated, Singeli is an electrifying African dance music from Tanzania, reaching speeds of up to 300bpm. Born in the bustling neighbourhoods of Dar, it has become more than just a sound — it’s a movement.
