Heath Aiken’s whole life since his first drum at the age of 5 has been about music. That one drum turned into a whole drum kit at the age of 12. That drum kit led him to his first band. Learning to play with that band opened doors to a very promising career in music.

Playing drums in multiple bands all throughout his school years, he started learning other instruments and how to record them, thus expanding his interests in music production and recording with interest in the electronic side of music. While attending college at University of North Texas for music and photography he bought his first synthesizer and recording software which opened his eyes to the electronic music scene forever. After deciding to leave UNT after two years to pursue his musical career elsewhere, he enrolled in classes at the Dallas Sound Lab school for Recording Arts which he learned how to record and produce bands and artists in commercial recording studios. After graduating from DSL, Heath took his knowledge and talent up north to New York City and started as an intern at the famous Unique Recording Studios in Time Square. During this time he was still playing drums in bands and starting to DJ for clubs around NYC, not to mention building a state of the art electronic production studio at his house in Brooklyn. 

After  two years of getting studio time and experience under his belt, he got a call from the World Famous recording studio, The Hit Factory. They wanted him to work for them as an engineer/producer. This was his dream to work there so he took the job and started his career. After  three years of working with many artists, bands, and companies such as Alicia Keys, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Metallica, P Diddy, The Neptunes, James Brown, Rob Thomas, Joe Strummer from the Clash, Warren G, Wu-tang Clan, Andre 3000 from Outkast, Jessica Simpson, Luther Vandross, Britney Spears, Godsmack, Dido, Clutch, Ruff Ryders, Mary J. Blige, KRS-1, Fat Joe, Cam'ron, Joe Budden, Gloria Gaynor, John Leguizamo, Nelly, Prince Paul, Utada, Tom Waits, Barbara Walters, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, Prince, and many others, as well as companies such as MTV, VH1, ABC, NBC, CBS, Sony/Epic, Universal/Def Jam, Island, Atlantic, Capitol just to name a few, and continuing his DJ gigs, the Hit Factory closed its doors after 30+ years of business. Heath then decided to take what he has learned back to Dallas and started doing live sound for bands at clubs such as Curtain Club, Club Clearview, Liquid Lounge, Club Dada, Lakewood Bar And Grill, and Renos as well as playing drums and electronic production for multiple bands. While making a name for himself in the live music scene in Dallas he had also joined well known Dallas DJ crew The 12 Inch Pimps and getting back into the DJ scene after a short term hiatus from spinning.  

After almost 5 years with 12 Inch Pimps he is still filling the dancefloors at many different dance clubs and venues such as Glo, Fuse, Mantus, Plush, Urbino, Mickeys, Whisky Bar, and many more  with his DJ skills or drumming  with his band, Jack Rooby.
