The Thatcher effect is about a cognitive dysfunction that affects the perception we have of certain objects, more specifically faces. A little brain game that offers us a reality different from ours. On this occasion, with “Thatcher Effect EP” I wanted to show that not everything we hear is perceived in the same way. There are infinite possibilities, endless ways of understanding music, whatever genre it is. After a very difficult year, away from my true passion, I present this new 4-track EP, which tells a story, a vision of my own reality. I really wanted to go back to the studio, and I hope you find this new musical adventure exciting, created directly from the heart to your senses. Seeing the weak, crawling hands of light rays radiating from the dying sun on the horizon, not quite able to make a dent on the pitch darkness, one might wonder: will the darkness prolong for another eternity? Unknown to them is another world, trying to break free from the grip of relentless & blinding light.

The beings on both sides roam around trying to find the switch that can flip through reality. But, as with most things in the cosmos, they feel controlled by the invisible threads of a higher power, a machine that no one knows. The sands of time flow endlessly through that machine, waiting for the signal to reverse the flow. Will anyone amongst the millions, be able to find that switch hidden in plain sight, within their own minds?

When a child is born, it is given a name which becomes the foundation of the mental image of “me” or “I”.

As the child grows it solidifies its “I" identity in the world by adding attributes such as personal preferences, qualifications, jobs, possessions, social connections and political views to who the “I” thinks it is. All of these concepts make up and establish the “I” as a unique and isolated unit in the world. Only rarely do humans recognise the fact that the “I” is a fiction of the mind.

The consumer culture which is destroying the planet is largely enabled by a lack of recognition of the falseness of the “I” structure. Clambering for more identity and sensual gratification, disconnected “I”s unconsciously consume at a rate which the planet cannot sustain.

The solutions to our external challenges might best be sought through an inward journey. Individual, internal examination of the “I” structure can reveal it’s illusion and begin an exploration of the infinite .

"But if I am not my job, possessions, relationships or even my name then, who am I?"

He discovered his love for psychedelic music recently as he started to dabble more with the type of style that he enjoys playing. Today, he showcases his sets in a way that pieces the music he loves and infuses it all together through pure funk and a feel-good atmosphere. Joao’s love for music drove him to start djing in 2016.
