Armed with diligence, musical prowess, and a progressive vision, KOAN Sound portray the future of electronic music. With 15 years and a bulk of releases under their belt, KOAN Sound’s capacity to move the needle in electronic music is stronger than ever.

Originally from Nottingham, James has spent the last 10 years in Leeds studying, DJing and producing music.

Playing multiple instruments from a young age, James’ musical influences have been shaped by a wide span of origins and genres. In 2019 he set up the DJ duo Le Frequency, who are known for a stripped back, punchy house & electro sound. You can catch him playing in venues across Leeds, such as The Imaginarium, Mint Warehouse & Distrikt, whilst also spanning further into the likes of Manchester and York.

His productions often comprise of hypnotic pads, stomping drums and Italo-inspired baselines. He looks forward to the year ahead with plans to release his first EP in 2025.
