The band's name comes from Jarvis Cocker's anecdote about wearing glasses for the first time and realising that the holes in the trees were the sky. The band has supported seminal alternative acts Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins), The Telescopes,  Mark Gardner (Ride), AR Kane and resurgent bands of English C86 scene The Woodentops, Blue Orchids and 14 Iced Bears. The trio is gearing up for the release of their debut EP called Klein Blues scheduled for release on October 3.

Electro Art Pop Noir

Berlin-based duo Sebastian and Valerie form the charmingly eccentric, refreshingly eclectic, act Noblesse Oblige. Combining catchy electro beats, haunting melodies and stylish pop hooks with a dark twist, they defy categorization. From their intoxicatingly provocative live performances, to their unique recordings, this theatrical raw art duo wow audiences with their hypnotic quality.  
They will be releasing their new album at the end of May (RepoRecords/Alive)

Noblesse Oblige was formed in London by French actress Valerie Renay and German producer Sebastian Lee Philipp.
Their debut album Privilege Entails Responsibility includes the irreverent singles: “Bitch” and “Daddy, don’t touch me there”. After moving to Berlin, the band released their second album In Exile, winning an endorsement by the German ministry of Culture and the Russian Steppenwolf Music Prize.
Malady (RepoRecords/ Metropolis Records) their third album is an hypnotic journey into the dark temptations of the heart, tales of voodoo, witchcraft, and tropical fevers underlined by the band’s use of world music sounds, mixed with their traditional blend of melodic new wave kitsch.
LIVE SHOWS

This boy girl duo creates dramatic tension not only through their music but also thanks to chemistry, persona and extravaganza.
They present a very dynamic, stylish and visually striking live show constantly re-inventing themselves, with different musical set up involving strong theatrical elements such as voodoo trance, costume changes, castagnettes, ukulele, percussions and half a drum set played standing up mixed with guitar and electronics. They swap instruments and take turn to sing or harmonise together.
They have played shows around the world from Latitude, Bestival to Torture Garden, the biggest S&M London club to headlining Decalage music festival in Brazil, providing music for the after show party of Charleroi, Swiss film festivals, art galleries, fashion shows, they appeared on Russian, Romanian, German, Belgium television.
They are also regularly DJ’ing around Europe in clubs and at private events (Royal College of Art (frieze Party), London / Mind Pirates (exhibition opening), Berlin /Control Club (after show party), Bucharest /Warehouse 9 (theatre festival opening party) Copenhagen etc)
