X-Press 2 have been at the vanguard of British electronic music for three decades now. In that time this acclaimed DJ and production duo, alongside Ashley Beedle, have turned out many hits. The London duo share the same sense of musical discovery that first united them on the dance floors of Shoom and Spectrum and the Balearic playground of Ibiza way back when. Now they find themselves in the thick of the SB mix series. 

“We’d describe the mix as ‘Moving forwards with a nod to our roots’. As always with X-Press 2 the idea was to try and include music that’s new and exciting to us, played alongside some of our productions as well as dipping back into the past and adding some inspirational flavours to the pot. We like to spend some time thinking about the programming of a mix, working out some sort of flow so that the finished blend makes sense.”

Time & Space 089 - JR Hartley

Joe has been been trying to craft the perfect transition between two records for the last 30 years,  one day he'll get there but until then,  welcome to the official home of Brutal Willis where we specialise in the exclusive currency of Global Electronic Soul. 

I managed Vinyl Frontier Records in Woking,  Surrey for the best part of a decade..... living, breathing,  loving and sharing repetitive beats.   I have been fortunate enough to grace the platters at lots of different clubs,  events and festivals up and down the country and Europe.  I co ran the legendary night "Shuffle" (which may come back one day).  I won the coveted "bedroom bedlam" mixtape award for Muzik magazine, residencies at the Cross, The Pool , Piranah's and 333 in London and was awarded the Percy Thrower Lifetime achievement award for services to the green plant.  I have played at Glastonbury, The Big Chill, Kimberley, Orchard amongst  many others and more recenly a regular fixture at the Give ! festival for House of Honey.   These day's I can be found deep in stock pots working culinary magic for all kinds of people,  however you may still catch me behind the platters (that matter) as much as I can.  I love music with a captivating groove, a glowing warmth,  sincerity and emotion however it comes and still relish the opportunity to share my sounds manually through the medium we know as Vinyl.  As long as it's available I will continue to support it,  everything about it just works and I believe it helps strengthen our beloved scene.
