In April 2012 Rich Quick released “I'm With The DJ” Hosted by DJ NoPhrillz and Benja Styles. The first 500 physical copies of the mixtape included 1 of 5 limited edition hand drawn Hip Hop themed Art Cards. Rich included the Art Cards as a testament to Hip Hop's influence on art and pop culture. During Rich's tour promoting “I'm With The DJ” Rich performed with notable New Jersey producer Mr. Green. After the show he was approached by Jeff Davis aka Stress the White Boy. Stress and Chuck Treece, a powerhouse production duo referred to as STREECE™, began working with Rich on an EP titled “Sad Songz” from Ben Frank Recordings.
 
The work on “Sad Songz” captured the attention of multi-Grammy award winning artist, Tim "Timebomb" Armstrong of Rancid and Transplants fame. Armstrong, a longtime friend of Stress, collaborated on a track with STREECE™ and Rich Quick. The track entitled "Stay True" became part of the Tim Timebomb and Friends project and quickly became a fan favorite. Other notable collaborations are Jakk Frost, Reef the Lost Cauze, and Rakaa Iriscience (Dilated Peoples)
 
Rich was then featured in Philadelphia Weekly calling him “Philly hip-hop’s rising star”. After featureson HipHopDx.com,RespectMag.com, AllHipHop.com, DJbooth.net and numerous international websites, “Sad Songz” debuted top 40 on the iTunes Hip Hop Album charts the day of it's release.

Singer-songwriter, producer, composer...Gene is known for wearing many 'o hat in the music world.  A period of deep introspective and song workshopping culminated in his 2018 self-produced debut “Amusia.”  This was supported by two US tours and a month-long run of shows across Europe.  The powerful music video for record closer “Not That Strong” spent a year traveling the world, winning best film ten times.  Gene has shared the stage with artists such as Charlie Daniels Band, Little Big Town, Lee Brice, Joe Nichols and many others.  His dual composer lifestyle has lead to collaborations with companies such as Nintendo, Nike, Beats, Skywalker Ranch, Lionsgate and Comedy Central.

Official Tour DJ for Armani White | Philly

ILL DOOTS is a collective of artists, educators, and activists based in Philadelphia; a group of individuals with different perspectives, from different places who want nothing more than to make music unfettered by the standards of the traditional and the prescriptions of the mainstream. What began in 2009 as a jam session, evolved into a dorm room mixtape, and eventually into a live band; several albums and tours later ILL DOOTS continues to hone their craft as performers and collaborators.

ILL DOOTS is on a lifelong mission to change the way our communities respond to and value music, art, and life. As a collective of arts educators, ILL DOOTS launched the I Love Learning initiative in 2014, setting up free workshops in schools, after school programs, churches and other shared spaces along their tour routes and at home. The initiative is ongoing both in Philadelphia and elsewhere.

In 2015 ILL DOOTS worked under the direction of Joanna Settle to compose and perform music for Flashpoint Theatre Company's "Hands Up", for which they received the Barrymore Award for Best Original Music. In 2016 ILL DOOTS composed and performed the Wilma Theatre's production of "An Octoroon" under the direction of Settle yet again.

Moving forward, ILL DOOTS will continue to bring more art into our communities and continue to collaborate across mediums. The intersection of community engagement as collaboration is of particular interest to ILL DOOTS and something to look for in their future works.
