🇧🇷 Neste Set de 8hs e 98 musicas eu simulei desde a abertura as 23pm, a subida de Bpm's até 1am, e depois em blocos de 2hs fui puxando do fundo do baú das minhas memórias o que mais me tocava, me emocionava e me fazia conectar com aquele mini-cosmo tão particular que era o dance floor da Misty, até chegar ao final da noite, que voltava a ser como tudo começou: lento, sombrio e melancólico (e mesmo assim levava a maioria dos notívagos que resistiam na boate iam ao delírio). As músicas escolhidas são de minha escolha pessoal, as que mais me marcaram nesses anos de ouro da Misty, porém todas foram executadas a exaustão naquela pista magica pelo Dj Xico e Dj Tom Azevedo onde eu faço questão de deixar aqui minha admiração e agradecimento pelo privilegio que foi viver essa época e sobretudo ao Dj Xico com quem pude compartilhar não só a musica, como a amizade.

🇺🇸 In this session with 8hs and 98 songs, I simulated from the opening at 23pm, the rise of Bpm's until 1am, and then in blocks of 2h I was pulling from the bottom of the trunk of my memories what most touched & moved me and made me connect with that very particular mini-cosmos that was Misty's dance floor, until the end of the night, which went back to how it all started: slow, dark and melancholy (and even then it took most of the night owls who resisted in the club to go to the delirium). The chosen songs are my personal choice, the ones that most marked me in these golden years of Misty, but all were performed to exhaustion on that magic track by Dj Xico and Dj Tom Azevedo where I make a point of leaving here my admiration and gratitude for the privilege what it was like to live that time and especially to Dj Xico with whom I was able to share not only music, but also friendship.

Misty - The Project (Mixed & Select by Las Bibas From Vizcaya)

Several weeks ago I mentioned that this new edition of Sophisticated Morning was going to be deep and moody.  At that time I noticed that a great deal of that type of deep house was sitting in my hold bin.  Well, that didn't happen.  Instead what you're going to hear here (ha!) is very much one of my traditional Morning sets.  For those of you that were looking forward to a deeper sound from me, please accept my apologies (but I do have good news for you; there's a Deep set on the horizon).  And for those of you that love my traditional sound, well, you're in for a treat.  This set is filled with the most current and heart-warming chill house that's out right now. I start the set out with the twinkling pianos of Anam (SE) "Anywhere".  The pianos, the message and the vibe are all just so perfect.  From there I roll on through piece after piece that's touching my heart at the moment.  And just for good measure I threw in one of the biggest feel-good classics of all time "Seven Cities" by Solarstone towards the end.  The remix of it is new and really incredible.  My personal favorites on the set are #1 "Anywhere", #3 Le Youth "Overgrown", #6 Kairos Grove "I Don't Mind (Robby East Remix), #8 Tinlicker "Nothing To Lose", #11 ARTBAT "Coming Home" and the very last song, #11, Flight Facilities "All Your Love".  I always hesitate to mention my favorites -- but the truth is -- I do have my favorites, just like you do.  I love every song on this set.  It just happens that those are my very VERY favorites.  I hope you'll listen...and hopefully love what I did.  From my heart...to your ears.

DJ Joe D'Espinosa has had a passion for discovering and sharing music since a very early age. Even as a teenager he would bring his records and turntables to parties to play music for friends. His first residencies were in the gay nightclubs of Boston in the nineties. His style has evolved over the years as tastes have evolved, and he's had many different phases to his career including having been a regular at the Pavilion on Fire Island in its nineties heyday, The Saint at Large in New York, Magnitude and Real Bad in San Francisco and countless other major event weekends on the gay party circuit around the country. 

You can regularly catch Joe in Brooklyn at House of Yes, including their epic annual Halloween event, City of Gods. He still regularly spins in New York, on Fire Island and makes occasional guest appearances on SiriusXM's Studio 54 Friday night show. His style is crafted to elicit joy and community, merging disco grooves and funky house sounds for soulful, melodic and uplifting journeys on dancefloors and in podcasts.
